Hello,

I submitted my application on May 17th, did my Biometrics 26th and got refused May 29th based on the two reasons below;

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.

1. I got admitted for a two (2) year program, I'm married but going alone.
2. I have a sponsor who has dropped all necessary requirements with account balance of CAD 180,000 in which NGN 20,000,000 (CAD 60,000) has been dedicated for me.
3. I also included my Investment Certificate of NGN 5,000,000 (CAD 15,000) but in my wife's name which i already explained in my LoE as our joint contribution towards studying abroad.
4. I also have another NGN 4,000,000 about (CAD 12,000) in another attached statement as my first year tuition which is yet to be approved by the CBN as there's forex issue (I have also explained this and declared evidence would be provided after approval). I have initially paid the non refundable payment earlier in the year.
5. I have evidence of my marriage and kids attached.

I still don't know why i was refused especially with the statement "family ties in Canada and in your country of residence".

I will gladly welcome your help.

Many thanks.

If you are married with a spouse and kids then you (not a sponsor) should be showing your own funds to support your studies. So you need to show funds to support studies as well as funds to support the number in your family for two years. Assume you live in Nigeria.

Thank you for this insight.

My current personal account balance would not be sufficient for that.
However, does it matter if I'm just adding up huge amount of fund into my personal account or it has to be after some period of time before i go back to apply? More so, what if the company I work for wants to support by releasing fund for this purpose? What do I have to provide for evidence?

The admission is for September 2022.

Thanks for your help

Who is your sponsor?

Generally speaking, it significantly weakens your application if you are not sponsoring yourself. IRCC doesn't like third party sponsors. They want to see that you can pay for everything yourself.

What's the school and program and what is your past education and work experience?

Sponsor is an Uncle.

School: Nova Scotia Community College
Program: Diploma, IT Systems Management and Security
Past Education: B.Sc and Masters
Experience: 10 years in Information Technology.

Your planned studies in Canada are a problem if it's a simple diploma. While this wasn't stated specifically as a refusal reason, it's most likely part of the issue and a key reason why you were refused. A diploma is a lower level of study than a B.Sc. and you also have a Masters. So it makes no sense for you to be coming here to study two levels lower than the education you already have. You need to be planning on studying at the post-graduate diploma level in Canada at a minimum.

Your uncle being your sponsor also weakens your application. It should be you - or your parents.

The program details are tailored to my field of specialization for my set goals and I personally don't feel it's an issue as explained in my LoE the reason for the program. My B.Sc is Computer Science and Masters is in Mathematics.

I'll appreciate your advice/help as regards what I need to do based on the refusal reasons and with my stated details.

I really appreciate you

Order GCMS notes for full reasons. Ties could mean relevancy of program and using program for immigration purposes. Show your own funds, not those of others. Show that you can support your studies and your family for two years.

Your biggest issue based on the refusal reasons is your funding. You need to fund everything yourself and not rely on a sponsor. Your funds need to cover your first year tuition + $10K in living expenses + additional funds that will support your family back home. So your current funds + your wife's funds are insufficient.

Hi

My name is Abdullahi, I'm 22, from Nigeria..

An urgent intervention is needed from you concerning my student visa...I have completed all necessary prerequisites but getting to the airport yesterday I was told there's a restriction on my visa and that I am unable to immigrate, hence am sending this message.

I was granted a student visa, with my dad as an accompany, for I cannot fare with a new territory alone.

My school admission got expired due to the late visa permit, so I had to wait for a new admission and course registration, because the documents were required for immigration.

My new admission didn't come in early, making my dad's visa period run out of date, then my dad was ignorantly advised by a family friend in Canada to immigrate, while wait for my documents from the school.

On getting to the border, he was denied boarding pass, that he is supposed to accompany me.

My dad came back to Nigeria with no idea that my visa as the principal applicant was flagged, not until recently as we were about to travel together, we were told my visa was flagged, which made me miss my flight and my ticket payment was non refundable.

I'm already registered in the spring/summer session in University of regina, Canada, and the school has been awaiting my resumption.

Please for I can no longer delay my resumption I really hope for any ideas or solutions to my predicaments.
