Hi,

I'm planning to apply for a Canadian study visa. I'm currently living in the US. Have been to Canada previously a number of times with 2 TRVs. My current TRV is valid till Sep 2015. My questions are:

1. Is police checks / FBI clearance required for a study visa? If so, how long do these take?
2. Should I apply from US or can I travel to Canada and apply there?

Appreciate any thoughts, thanks.

Hi,

Go through the official website of the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C. to know everything you need to know before applying for a Canadian Study permit from U.S:

Thanks but that doesn't help me in anyway as I've already gone through those links. If anyone else has straight answers to my questions, I would appreciate that.

2. Should I apply from US or can I travel to Canada and apply there?
1. Could you look at the embassy site to figure that out?
2. You cannot apply for student visa from INSIDE of Canada. You will have to send your papers to VO in the USA anyways.

You should apply from US and there is a list for the countries requiring police certificates.Go through it.As far as I know FBI certificates take longer time and is a lengthy process.
