STUDY VISA FOR US CITIZEN IN QUEBEC MUST STUDIES BE FULL TIME OR CAN I GO PART T

i am a US citizen and would like to study part time for one year in quebec and live with my boyfriend in MONTREAL quebec, he IS a canadian citizen so we can get to commonlaw status. Should i apply for study visa and can i get one if i am only going PART TIME to school???? also any additional infor would be appreciated

I believe that the CIC website has the rules for this.... But if I'm not mistaken as I am looking to move to CA too... I think its full time for the student visas...

You can only obtain a study permit if your studies are full time.

If your program is more than six month, then you cannot study without a study permit. So if you want to study for one year, then a study permit is mandatory.
