Study Permit expired outside Canada.

Hello, hope you're all well.

My study permit expired on 31st July 2021 while I was in New Delhi (and I still am), now I'm finishing up my last semester from UBC via online classes.

If I choose to fly out to Canada in the next few weeks, will I have to apply for a fresh new permit?
Or
Will I have to "restore my status" and then apply for a new permit?

Please help me, I'm very confused and worried.

1. New study permit. Since you are not in Canada restore doesn't apply.
