Study Permit Application In US

Hello everyone, i love this forum. Recently , i got admission from Senaca College Jan 2014.
I am holidaying in the us now can i apply for my study permit from here(New York or LA ?) ? I require TRV to enter Canada and i currently have one now.
Pls i need your help, dont just read and move on.

You can apply it from here but your length of stay in US must meet your visa processing time.

Don't apply in US as processing time here is more than 3 months. You should try from your home country.

Thanks for your responses, i know its a simple google search but that what this forum is all about, to learn from one another .
Has anyone been in the same situation before and was the study permit issued, and did you in LA?
I would really love to apply from US it saves me all the hassles .

I know several people who have applied for study permit here in USA. Study permit is processed only in LA. It takes more than three months. People applied at the beginning of april and still havent got their visas. I applied on May second week and still no sign of any visa. Better not apply from here. I did a very big mistake by applying from here.

first hand research is better than relying on this forum completely.....and yes as above person said US is problematic....i wanted to apply in US but research showed in my case india was better... got visa in 4 days so depending on ur country u make a decision....

It takes about 3-4 months from my country, but i taught the process would be faster since i already have a valid TRV.
