What is your blood sugar level at the moment? I doubt that it's Type 2 at 36, are you sure? It may be Type 1 that is for sure Insulin dependent. Please get your blood tested and check your sugar level and get a urine test privately before you appear for Panel Physician. If the results are bad with private tests, it'll make it harder to pass medicals.

Which insulins are you taking and the medication? Have you consulted with Endocrinologist to make sure which Dibetes type is it?

Being an existing condition, you will have to pay most of the expenses out of pocket, like testing strips, insulin medications which will be very expensive as a student.

You should disclose your diabetes and your insulin usage to Panel Physician. As long as your blood sugar is in range and HbA1C is okay (do test it).. like under 7.5-8mmo/l.. you'll be fine. They won't take any extra tests but a bit elevated sugar or in urine might surprise them if you don't disclose it before.

My wife has Type1 Diabetes and we have gone thru the same process for PR.. medicals are same for students, PR etc so I know what goes on.

Just to let you know.. 100 test strips costs about $84, average insulin costs about $40 per 10ml vial and 5 ~ 10 for a pack of syringes. Just so that you have rough idea what it may cost.

Ok.. I generally has hba1c below 6.5, due to some stress it went little high.. Now taking insugen 50/50 since last two months only to get it under control and after couple of months generally i stop insulin if the values comes to normal. This happens ones in year or ones in two years.. I dnt depend on insulin all through the time.. Im really concerned whether to disclose it or not...

You are good there.. but do disclose it.. They'll note down the values and frequency of your insulin usage.. It will not effect the outcome of your medicals/visa. Better safe than sorry.
