Student visa to PR path

Hi,

I want to come to Canada for studies and then apply for PR. I am 33 years of age and currently in Australia, working for a company there from last 2 years and originally from India and have 10 year work experience. I had previous applied for express entry to Canada but my CRA score never made the cut. Now I am thinking of perusing masters program for 1 year and then get work permit to apply PR. What are my chances
1. Getting student visa for the one year masters program.
2. Getting work permit after that.
3. Getting PR, considering that I am a tech developer and have similar field experience in last 10 years.
also, I have my sister who is a Canadian citizen living there.

If you are 33 years of age, are in STEM category - worth doing french instead of coming to Canada for masters if the former makes you eligible for Francophone and STEM through competitive CRS.

Coming as a student to Canada for PR is a poor immigration strategy if we look at what's happening right now.

Given your age and the fact that you have been working for a decade it may be tough to justify that you are moving out of Australia only after 2 years to return to school for education purposes and not immigration purposes. A large portion of masters degrees are also 2 years so there is non guarantee you’ll only be able to do a 1 year program
