stolen ID

Hello.

I applied for eta for my mom who is in her 60s.
and her application became pending.

I got crazy message from cic saying that she is pr.

She did not apply for PR and somehow she is pr now.

did anyone have same experience?

Only thing I can think of her id got stolen and someone applied for pr.

I think it's highly unlikely this is a stolen ID issue. If someone is going to go through all of the trouble of applying for PR, extremely unlikely they're going to do it with a stolen ID.


More likely: Her name was confused with someone else. Or - she did somehow get PR status a long time ago (perhaps through a parent?) and doesn't remember.

Thank you for your reply scylla.
My parents are in their 60s. so if she has PR , it would be me or my sister applied for parents sponsorship.

But, nor my sister or I applied for parents sponsorship.
Also, I got approved eta for my dad right away.
If they applied for sponsorship, would they be approved together( FYI they have married for 30 yrs)?

It may be some computer error (hopefully)
