Hi,

International students studying in recognized colleges/universities of Canada atleast a 1 academic year/2 sem/ actual 8 months of study course are eligible for PGWP (Post Grad Work Permit - which allows international students to stay back temporarily and work for up to max. 3 years) as well as OCWP (only those institutions participating in OCWP category, which allows international students to work for part time-20 hours/week after 6 months of actual study in Canada).

After pursuing a 1 year course at GBC, you will be eligible for a 1 year PGWP. To become eligble for a 3 years PGWP, one must complete a recognized full time course of 2 academic years/ 4 semesters/ atleast 16 months of actual study.

On the official CIC website, there is no mentioned rule on PGWP after pursuing two 1 academic year courses.

Hence, there's no guarantee of a 3 years PGWP after pursuing two full time separate 1 academic year (2 sem/8 months of actual study) programs provided, each academic year is of atleast 28-30 credits/credit load or more. You may or may not get. You can be assured of a 2 year PGWP though. It really depends on luck. Ultimately it's up to the Visa officer issuing your PGWP.

To know more about other courses and colleges... Here's the list of ALL recognized Canadian educational institutes eligible for OCWP+PGWP, listed according to province:

Hi,
My PR process getting longer for a valid reason. In the mean, my PGWP going to expired on Aug/15/17. So what options I have to stay back in Montreal or any other provinces esp in Ontario.
It is important to mention here that my CSQ application is still under processing.
Can I go back to school again to get 1 yrs visa extension so that by this time I will get a decision from Quebec immigration or even I can apply for EE.
Prompt response will be appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Regards.

A single program of 2 years will let you fetch the 3 years PGWP.. not 2 seperate program of year year length and PGWP issues once in life!!!!! so better apply for a 2 years program!!
Thats entirely inaccurate. There are people who went the route he wants to take and got 3 years PGWP . Each case is different

From Fanshawe College they confirmed me that if I will do two back to back diploma then I will be eligible for 3 years work permit.

Read the article from the link below-

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob194A.asp

there are some lines I am mentioning-

Revised program criteria

Students holding a one-year graduate degree, diploma or certificate from a participating institution in Canada after having obtained, within the prior two years, a certificate, a diploma or degree from a participating institution in Canada may qualify for a three-year work permit. This exception also applies to students who have left Canada temporarily between programs of study.

from this line I can understand that If a student who is holding a one year degree or diploma and again do a degree or diploma within 2 years (means if you complete your diploma in 2012 you have to earn another diploma within 2014) they will be eligible for 3 years work permit.

whats your opinion Tiger and Nadeem vai?
Could you please explain the legal procedures, i mean how to take admission for another program when I'm doing our first program, and about the fees-1 year/1sem payment and student visa ?
