Stale dated PR application

Sooo... I think I really made a blunder. Im sponsoring my husband in Canada class.We signed the PR application and OWP Sept 27 2017 but did not mail them until Dec 30 2017. Cic received it Jan 5 2018. I'm worried sick that everything will get returned because of this stupid mistake all of our documents, original receipts, photos original letters from family and friend are attached to this application. Ive called cic several times and they advised to wait and see . It is under the officers discretion...while another said to resubmit everything. Im really lost and confused. Anyone know for sure if our application will be sent back to us?

Unless there is such a rule exists and I am not aware of it, I don't see any problems that by signing it in September and submitted it in December. I do see that it will be a problem, if it is around that you submitted in September, but signed the date as of December.

It's potentially an issue of the forms being out of date - CIC updated a lot of the forms in Oct, I believe. There's some grace, but not sure how much. From what I could tell they didn't change much, hope it won't be an issue

It all depends on how much of a hurry you're in. If no hurry then wait and see, and reapply with your original photos etc if it gets returned. If you're in a hurry...

Ya, I didn't realize the form updates. That could be the issue that will cause your package to be returned.

Thank you for the reply. Apparently when I called they said its in the rules stating if its over 90 days which of course I was unaware of as well. but its strictly under the officers discretion. We wont know anything until we receive an AOR or our application has been sent back to us in the mail. Our worst fear ever....

If all your forms were signed in September, it's not possible that they were all up to date, as a few of the forms were updated in the middle of October.

Thanks KBH Well thats just Lovely... So more than likely we will expect our application sent back in the mailbox..or maybe I can submit just the new forms and they will attach my documents pics etc to that one? I can explain in a cover letter perhaps?

No, they won't take anything from your previous package and attach them to your new one. They will send back the whole package. If you decide to send in new application, you need to attach everything, unfortunately.

Oh no my husband is currently on implied status . We have also sent application for extension of stay as visitor. That has the correct form and date thankfully

My main concern right now is that most documents are original in this current application... Original receipts, letters and pics. I have no idea what Im going to do now... I guess I will have to wait and see what happens

Don't worry too much about that, if you don't receive AOR they will absolutely send it back to you and you'll get all your originals back. I would probably be expecting to get it back at this point, I know they do have a grace period for updated forms, but I don't know that they will honor it in January for forms updated in October.

For the OWP, note that your husband needs to be in status to apply - not implied status, but IN status - so if he is still waiting for a decision on his extension, make sure to wait to resubmit the OWP until he gets his approval. You can send in the PR app back in as soon as you like and then send in the OWP to Vegreville once he gets the extension approved.

For return application, you probably look at 1 month, and for AOR, recently, majority of the applicants will wait it for 6-8 weeks from the day that CIC received your application, some takes either shorter or longer to receive AOR
