Hello there,
I am planing on applying for my Permanent residency under the spouse sponsorship category,
i was wondering as the processing time for the open work permit is 4-5 months, once all my paper work is in for permanent residency under this category and when i would have applied for my work permit, would i be able to go to the boarder and get my work permit right after it's application?
And would i have to apply for a new visa, as i believe a visa is not specific to change in work permit.

Have a fun day
Thank you

No - you cannot obtain this work permit at the border. You must mail in the application along with the spousal sponsorship application and wait the 4 months for it to be issued. Yes - it's a new work permit.
