My file for SOWP was submitted on 10 April 2020. When can I expect any decision on my file?

Hi can you please tell the documents to apply for sowp as I got refusal on the grounds of


You have been unable to adequately demonstrate that you meet the requirements of a
spousal open work permit under section 205(c)(ii) of the Regulations.

Also can my spouse apply for sowp if I as a student still here in my home country ??

If my spouse got sowp refusal can he apply for normal visitor visa?

Thanks for asking. No I applied work permit for myself. Closed work permit outland from India online in February. Waiting for the final decision.

So did you travel with your spouse or she went there -> you then applied -> and got it?
In my case, my spouse got her study visa stamped -> Some consultancies are telling that she has to go first -> stay there for 6 months -> I shall apply later.
So kindly let me know if both can travel together and what are the requirements (financial and other) for SOWP?

I got refusal same thing I am here in India and my classes are from September so in meanwhile we thought to apply for sowp and refusal came

GIC Copy
My Passport

And my spouse documents as follows

SOP
Passport
Digital photo
All forms like work permit , family info and TRV.
Spouse education degree
Marriage certificate
Bank statements

SOWP aren’t guaranteed for spouses. There are quite a few couples who remain separated until PGWP.

Hi Manpreet ,

it happens many time that SOWP get refused because of 205c (ii). I have seen numerous cases and also get through them. Yes you can apply again and get throgh it. Before that needs to check whats your current status is.
