Hey so question.... Does the Phone Number that u put on yoir application doesn't matter does it? I may need to change my phone number for an unrelated reason and I want to make sure they don't actually try to reach you at that number you put on the application. I'm happy to update it if need be.

Hello!

Has anyone ever sponsored a common law partner although you are not married and you have not lived together?

I had included my common law partner in my PR application as non accompanying, and immigration had asked a whole bunch of documents for him including medical and police certificate. I got my PR on that basis and now I want to sponsor him as common law partner. But my agent is saying living together is a must even though we have a property together, joint bank accounts, travelled together and even submitted the statutory declaration of common law union during the PR application.

Anyone has any thoughts on how the commong law partnership is viewed in practice by immigration?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

I am sponsoring my wife for spousal visa outside canada class. As per doc check list, she has to submit the Birth Certificates of family member, even if they are not accompanying her. Now, there is no birth certificate for her dad and mom. Her dad has aadhar card and passport but her mom only has aadhar card?

How can we work this out? Please help.

You don't need to submit her parents' BC. Only your wife's BC is needed and if you have dependants.

That would really be a relief but the exact wording of Doc Check list says, "Birth Certificate or Baptismal certificates for yourself and all family members, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not."

And family member defined as per Guide 5289 is "Family member is defined as being a: parent, guardian, sibling, spouse, common-law partner, grandparent, child, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew and first cousin."

Could we still go ahead without this?

Only birth certificates for spouse/common law partner/conjugal partner and dependent children are to be included in the spousal application. However, the parents and siblings must be listed on the Additional Familiy Information (IMM 5406). And if asked if she has other family members and/or relatives in Canada, she should mention that as well. Good luck.

**Family members
"An applicant’s closest relatives, in the context of an application. It is defined as a spouse or common-law partner, dependent children, and their dependent children."

Thank you Sir, its a relief then. Good day!

Hello,
If you received an email saying the your application is in process, it means your SA is approved.
Have you linked your account to check the status of the application?

Thanks,

SA is sent to the Sponsor. Not all gets AOR1, SA or AOR2. In my case, I never received AOR2. I'm only aware that my App is already at my VO because of ECAS and MyCIC.

So what you mean that my sponsorship is approved, and I don't have to wait to SA email! Because its been two months my application is in process and I didn't get any email?

Thank you

Also my sponsorship is in process not a decision made, i thiught decision made is when they send u an email that your sponsor is elegibil, then tue permanent resident application will start processing. Am i right?

Sorry to bother but i am a bit worried

You are fine. They would not move on to the second stage if the sponsorship was not approved. You may never get an email or see a change on your listing on ecas. Now be patient. Consider ordering your GCMS notes in a few months if you have not heard anything.
