Hello! Can anyone enlighten me on the fees and refunds? Paid the amount of $625CAD, processing fee for both Sponsor and the person being sponsored. We received a letter from CIC indicating a refund amounting to $75CAD. What does it mean? Do we need not pay a sponsorship fee and just a fee for the person being sponsored? Please help... a little confused and worried. Good luck everyone. :) :) :)

Your total should be $1,040 or $550 and them when approved you pay the PR Fees ($490 ).

I'm guessing you paid the $550 spouse fee instead of the $475 Principal Applicant fee.

Thanks a lot TANMEX & canuck_in_uk. It will definitely ease a lot of thinking. Now, we will wait for the next result and hoping to get my other half the soonest. Really hard to live alone and far from the person you love. Again, Good luck everyone and wishing you all the best!:)

I suggest you pay the RPRF now to avoid any possible delays in IRCC having to request it and wait for it.

Thanks for your suggestion, should I pay it now even we don't have the approval or request yet? Or, should I consider my application approved since we got the application number and the application has been reviewed? The status only indicate "Application Received" (August 24, 2016). Thanks a lot for your help.:)

Yes, you should pay it now. The guide actually states that it should be paid upfront with the other fees to avoid potential delays.

The fact that you have received the application number most definitely does not mean that your app is approved.

Will do it then, thanks canuck_in_uk... and things will get better for everyone dreaming and working on it.

As stated clearly in the guide, you must send the original PCCs AND original immigration forms.

Hi Guys,

I applied June 1, 2016 and still showing in online account that my background check is in process. Now, I know that people from March are getting their SAs now. I have a quick question. I am married for just over 1 year now and was in relationship with the person for bit more over 2 years. I am in Canada on Student status so did not apply for OWP. Do you guys think I am gonna get a conditional PR or have they started revoking the process as promised by the minister in Feb end? If so, will the processing time be longer in your view?

Thanks guys for your input in advance.

Sam

Hello,

I have a question about spousal visa, My wife is a citizen of Canada and we recently got married , and now we are planning to submit our file for the process. But I have a question about my Refugee status in South Africa. I took a refugee status in Soth Africa in 2013, i travelled back to India in 2014 surrendering my Refugee status.

My question is Will it be an issue for me showing that status of refugee in my Application form?

Thank you and looking forward for a reply coz we are waiting for someone to guide us through this.
