Hi everyone,

My husband lives in Canada and I live in the Philippines. He submitted our application last May 5, 2015. We received a letter from the embassy in Canada last July 2015 stating that he can sponsor me and they will send our documents to the Canadian embassy in the Philippines. I received a call from the Canadian Embassy in the Philippines last August 5, 2015 requesting to send my passport. Last October 7, 2015, I had 2 missed calls from unknown number similarly to the number who called me to request for my passport. I think that number was from the embassy. What am I going to do? Do I need to email the embassy or just wait to call me again? I was trying to call the number but it does not allow to receive incoming calls.
javascript:swapOptions();

You really need to email the embassy and do it quickly . They could close your file .

Hi, I was born in Canada and am applying to sponsor my wife. We have been married for 3 years which I've visited her several times, my stays were usually 1 to 2 months. She is currently finishing her thesis at her University, which is why we never started this before, as well I was in college at the time we got married.

Currently I am unemployed do to (work shortage) from the company I last worked for in Alberta. My wife's father passed away and I went down to visit her, my stay was 3 months long because she wanted me to be around for her birthday and my son in laws. During my stay, I volunteered at a school, substituted as well.

I just returned to Canada to get this sponsorship going and intend to send it out soon. I want to know what are my options if I go back to my wife's country and work there while waiting for the sponsorship approval? I really hate living this way away from her, it's a painful experience for both us and her son who has become accustomed to me being there.

Since you are a Canadian citizen you can go and live and work with your wife, the only thing is they will then ask for proof of intent to return to Canada, when your wife receives PR.

hi again! please correct me if i'm wrong: so my relative is being sponsored by a canadian under the spousal visa. they have 2 non accompanying dependants. will the PR application fees be:
$75 for the sponsorship application
$475- principal applicant
$490- right to PR

thanks!
You are correct ,you don't pay for non accompanying dependents .

Whats the best way to organise photos? I'm thinking of printing 3-4 out to each page with captions. Is that alright or do they all have to be separate on actual photo paper?

That's fine....no they don't have to be printed separately or on photo paper. I printed 2 or 3 per page with captions...just don't bind the pages with anything.

Hi,

I've got 3 lines on eCAS:-

1. We received xxxxxx's application for Permanent Residence on July 27, 2015

2. We started processing xxxxxx's application on October 6, 2015

3. Medical Results have been received.

Is that it now until Decision Made? Obviously there's a long wait until that happens but I want to check there aren't any other lines to be added (London don't give AOR2) and I can hopefully sit back and just wait now?

Thanks!

Thanks Taffy, you and Andrew-Brit have had a really awful experience. I hope things soon get finalized for everyone who's been waiting so long.

I'll do my best to forget it about it all for now and try to carry on with life ;D

Question 14. in the Document Checklist states "Photocopy of your marriage certificate, if you have a co-signer and he or she is your spouse".

Do I still include the photocopy of the marriage certificate if there is no co-signer?

Also, when doing the sponsorship, do I send copies of the signed copies of the documents I have, or the original signed documents? such as criminal record check, marriage certificate, etc...
I'm asking since these are the only signed copies I have, and if they get lost or misplaced, I'd have to travel again to help my wife get those papers all over again.

Thanks!

If you are applying as married, then the marriage certificate is a required document. It's listed there for the sponsor, but the applicant definitely has it in their checklist.

Check your country-specific guide. Some nationalities are required to send originals. Others require notarized copies, while others will accept photocopies. You do have to send the original police check though.

I got another question, if my employment status changes after I send in my sponsorship application, what happens?
