Im sponsor me and my wife went together for interview on oct 7 in Islamabad. The visa officer was lady and took one hour with my wife and 20 min together. She did not clarify if i passed or not but gave back passport and said she will decide in one month when she goes back to london. She gave back some documents but she kept police certificate(first time given on interview), photocopies of our both passports, money transfers, some ruqsti pictures, 4 passport size photos. Does that mean she rejected my case?

how much does one need to pay for spousal sponsorship if the person being sponsored has two dependents from another spouse, they are not coming to Canada (not included in the application). Also, do you have to pay the new $100 "open permit holder fee" in addition to the open permit application fee of $155? Lastly, do both application for open permit and sponsorship go together in one envelope? Thank you!
Yes, you have to pay both fees, totaling $255. I made the mistake of excluding the $100 open work permit fee and only found out four months later, when I was expecting to receive my work permit. Don't make the same mistake I did! Good luck.

There is no minimum income required to sponsor a spouse. That said, you have to prove to CIC that you will be able to support yourselves without going on welfare. There have been several full-time students and stay at home moms who have sponsored their spouses.

As for whether it's better to move to the US, that would be your decision. I am not familiar with the process in the US.

The cost of the application is $1040, plus the cost of the medical and any forms that you might need to have translated and notarized (check your country-specific guide).
Thanks for your response! Knowing that others with similar incomes have gotten through this makes me feel a lot better.

Hi guys.
I am getting my COPR this week and I want to move to Toronto with my Canadian wife in December. Looking for flight tickets for both of us and realized that it's way cheaper to book a round trip ticket that a one-way ticket.

I am thinking about booking a round trip ticket (December to May/June 2016) and never using the return flight.
Do you think it's going to be a problem in my case?
Please help.

Hello,

Does anyone have insight into whether CIC can grant Spousal Travel Documents to those who don't Valid Passports?

My wife is stuck in Eritrea(Dictatorship) and the Gov will not issue her a passport (Told to wait 3-7 years). My question is if i pay a smuggler for her to flee the country will the CIC assist in expediting a travel document?

Anyone have any information which may be able to assist. PM me.

Thanks

Does she already have PR? Travel documents are only issued to individuals who already have permanent residency.

To the best of my knowledge she would need to have a valid passport in order to board the plane to come to Canada.

I am not sure but I think you should look at refugees program and apply for her to come as refugee. I'm sad for you guys and hope things will get better for her soon.

No - it won't be a problem. Go ahead and do it. Return tickets are typically cheaper.

Dear members,

Today, a line was added to my husband's ecas stating that the medical results have been received. He got decision made on 10th October. How come they made the decision without receiving the medical results. I am so scared right now. Until now I thought the case was normal, Now I am having second thoughts. Please suggest if this is okay or not.

Nothing to be concerned about. They probably just updated your E-cas.

My husband (PA) can't login to his E-Cas. We have tried his UCI, application number and receipt number. Nothing works. Is it even worth sending case specific enquiry to get this fixed?
