Hi everyone,

I just got married last week and planning to send the application for PR soon. Did any of you hire agents to do this or its relatively easy to do it on your own ? Thanks in advance

I had a lawyer do mine. He made it so easy and does all the corespondence for me. Thought its a little pricey but all good things are

It's straightforward, with guides and checklists. Save your money and do it yourself. If you have any issues, ask here on the forum.

Hi all,

I am new to the blog and have got married last month and planning to have all the docs submitted by end of the month, to bring my wife to Canada.

Just one question: My wife was rejected a visit visa to Canada in which I(we were not engaged or married at the time) was also never mentioned in her application. can someone let me know if this will impact the sponsorship process.

thanks,

Be as honest as you can in filling out all the forms.

The sponsorship portion of our application was accepted within the same timeframe as others, even tho my wife had a prior rejected visitor visa.

Regarding the PR application of the sponsored spouse, it will be a red(ish) flag.., - opinions vary on this. Some say any visa rejection is a negative. Some say, if a marriage follows, and in the event of an interview required by the VO, it might be viewed as a genuine commitment to the relationship.

Having one visitor visa application rejected is not negative in itself. It shows that couples want to share their lives together.
What can/will pose a problem for you is that your wife didn't mention this visitor visa rejection in the application. There is a question in th forms that specifically asks if there has ever been a visa denied to Canada or other countries. So the fact that your wife didn't answer this is a lie and misrepresenting herself. It doesn't matter if you weren't married at the time. It was asking about her visa application history. Now, that being said, because this visitor visa rejection was for Canada, and the vo will be able to see the application history to Canada, maybe it won't be a big deal. But if I were you, and sponsor approval has already happened, I would use the uci number and send an updated form to the visa office abroad and rectify this information telling the truth and explaining that a visitor visa to Canada was denied.

Anyone here with the same status as mine?

We received your application for permanent residence on May 23, 2014.

We started processing your application on January 22, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

Thanks everyone for your guidance. Few questions about the forms

- Our marriage was arranged by relatives as in they made the introductions and then we decided to get married after meeting a few times, would that be considered arranged ?

- For proof of marriage, honeymoon, relationship how many pics, chat logs, phone logs should I provide ?

thank you so much for your advice. I may have not been clear, i was not mentioned on her visit visa when she applied some time last year. However she is going to mention the fact that her visit was rejected on the form IMM5669 Q6. We are going to be completely transparent on our forms to show our genuine plea. I am just nervous if it might work against us.

Thanks,

This means that's the sponsor will be approved or rejected. If approved the next step is that they will foward the permanent resident application to your local visa office.

That's not true it's just her AOR, now she waits for the sponsorship approval letter

just looks like they received the application, but the dates are weird. Why did you receive it in February but the date says they received the application in June 2014? Or is that just a typing mistake?
