Is there anyone here who lived with the spouse outside of Canada and the sponsor did not work and did not have any income abroad?
I am in a similar situation - we live in Poland and I have a business here, my Canadian wife doesn't really have to work so she has no income for the 2014. Now we want to move to Canada and she is supposed to be my sponsor.
I know that outlanders don't need to proof any income but I understand that this is just a theory.

Has anyone been in such a situation?
Thank you!

Can someone please help me :(

I am a Canadian citizen ( living in Mississauga) and I plan to marry an Indian citizen in August 2015. The registar in India is requesting the following documentation from me before the marriage happens.

• Marital Status Certificate
• Certificate of Non-Impediment ( What is the validity of this document?)

How do I get these? Can I do it myself or do I need to hire a lawyer?

Anyone?

Hey, so I have been doing lots of reading and asking around and it looks like as long as she is not on welfare, she can just write a note stating why she is not working, what she is planning to do for money upon return and how she will get by.

I saw someone post (who sent in their application and got the visa) they (Canadian) were not working and explained in their sent package that they have the support of in laws and other family members who will help them if they needed it (money wise and living situation). They got letters from those family members. In my case, I have been out of Canada for 6 years, I will write a letter explaining the situation, what I plan to do when returning to Canada (looking for work) and the help that I can get from family if need be.

Canada is not as strict as the US when it comes to how the sponsor will sponsor. So, again, from what I have seen (and I have been reading up A LOT on it because that was something I needed to know) as long as she writes a detailed letter telling them how she has not lived in Canada and does not have that income, what she plans to do work wise when returning, and any help you two can get from family stated in letters - should be fine. I am also writing how we are now saving so that when we get there we will have money for a few months rent, plus food and things we need, and will be looking for work once we arrive.
This is what I saw from many posts. If anyone else has something they would like to add - please do.

Thank you SOOO much! It's a great idea to get the letter from my wife's family. We will definitely do it. We are also saving money. I hope it will work and I will keep writing here and will let you know. Maybe it'll help someone in the future.

Just recieved our OWP for my wife (inland sponsorship spousal, filed Feb 2014). Valid for 2 years, which damned well better be more then enough time for her PR to finalize. A small step, but at least a positive one in the right direction. No longer the stress of only having a 1 income household.

Is this under the pilot program? Did you file for the OWP along with the PR application?

We filed an OWP along with our app, yes - as we have recieved no other communication besides the confirmation of receipt, I have to presume this is the pilot program. Makes the wait a bit more bearable at least.
