No i m the sponsered person n i havnt done anything which creats doubt on me by cic... The reason i asked is because mostly people who dont have travel history ther background check is done quickly n if u have been out of india more than 6 months they need ur passport to get ur background for that specific country thats y some people get passport request within 15 days after file transfers to delhi and the ones who dont have such history will be requested for the passport at the end of the process means around 4-6-8 weeks after the file is transfered to delhi n visa is issue in next 1-2 weeks max... That is the confusion that is visitor visa counted in travel history or no??? Thanx a ton :-)

Sounds to me like you answered your own question.

Obviously the more in formation you provide the more time it will take to validate. Thats why you get police certificates. It satifies 2 things: 1) that you resided outside your country of origin, and 2) that you did so legally.
It is in your best interests to declare all your travels as they request no breaks in the timeline. If you were in Kuwait for 3 months it could be a vacation or it could have been searching for potential work. Whatever. Just make sure that all of your time is accounted for. leaving anything out could disqualify your application altogether.

No the sponsor does not require a police check. The sponsor is already here.

CIC does a police check themselves of the sponsor, because people who have committed certain violent crimes are banned from sponsoring.

That would make sense. Thanks for the correction.

why do some people from certain countries believe that they can customize immigration procedures to suit themselves. There is a checklist for every application. If people follow the checklist, they wont ask certain stupid questions

Well u provide zerox of all pages of ur passport that means u have opened urself in front of thm as ur passport have all stamps of entry n exit of country u have visited n u have to provide that info in the supplimentry form in appendix a so thr is no way u can provide wrong info... What i want to knw is even if u have travelled on visitor visas do they check the things out there??? as this background process is the curse to all applicants who r waiting to meet there beloved... Specially the ones who r genuine n have straight forward case...

I'm sure they will run your passport number through INTERPOL.

There is no guarantee that just because your application is straightforward that it will move faster than others.

Getting it done thru interpol is an easy task as u get info of entry exit in about 5 to 10 mins after the process... Evn if it takes 24 hours no harm rather thn physical check of ur passport... Really a hassel this background thing is.... Does anyone knw what is the process in background n how long does it takes???

You want into Canada. Your job to do the legwork.

This background check keeps criminals and terrorists out of Canada. Would YOU like to live next door to a warlord that committed genocide?

Hi all,

First of all I would like to thank all of you who post some usefull information and keeping this forum active.

I am relatively new to this forum and I need your expert advice and suggestion.

I am a Canadian PR and i m currently working and residing in Canada since Jan 2013..
I recently got married to my girlfriend in April 2013 (outside of canada)..

When I applied for my Canadian PR ( ie in 2011) i didnot include my girlfriend's details in my application. We were not living togather .. we just know each other for the past 2 years or so and we went out for dating a couple of times but we never stayed togather..

Now I wish to submit the application under family class for my wife( my girlfriend whom I married recently).. Since I didnot declare her details at the time when I applied for my Canadian PR does it affect her applicaton now?

Please advise

Appreciate your suggestion..

Thanks a lot..

as i know it won't affect (neither make it fast or slow) good luck
