How to organize package? Residing

Hi there! We are about to send off our package to Vegreville!
A couple last things we would love your help with.

1.) We are grouping our application into 3 parts.... Sponsor, Applicant and Supporting...The document checklist is all over the place... What's the verdict on presentation? Staple forms but not supporting details of the form? no staples at all? We have an extensive table of contents explaining each item at the beginning of the whole package and at the beginning of each section.

2.) My husand worked on a cruiseship based out of US but sailed allover the world during the 6 months.. sometimes contracts were over 6 months by a few days... Does that count as residing over 6 months in a country? We are hoping to attach his work history and explain that it was work purposes... was never in same country.. and did not have a fixed address anywhere.

3.) OPTION C PRINTOUT.. I just realized my original copies are not adequte... we are against the clock as my husbands crim check expires November 8 from Peru. It would be a huge hassle to have to get that re issued and translated.
Think we can send my originals and t4's with the package now to assure his crim check will still be valid and send the original printouts once they arrive from Can Rev agency? or wait for everything.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

UPS or regular mail?

Does Vegreville accept packages via UPS?

No staples. You can put things into separate envelopes though.

This is a common organizational scheme.

I wouldn't consider that "residing" but if you are concerned make clear the circumstances in your application, that he considered a specific location "home" but his work involved prolonged travel, do so - attach it as a separate sheet with a clear explanation. Then if the VO wants further information they can ask and there is no risk of you being accused of misrepresentation.

Wait for everything. The fastest processing is given to applications that are well organized and complete. Anything that requires the VO defer processing will negatively impact your processing time. So wait the 2-3 weeks it will require to get the Option C printout and submit a complete application.

Good luck!

Yes. Addresses are on the CIC website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/canada/vegreville.asp

Thank you for your response! What about a plastic expanding file (horizontal) that has seperate sections?
Also is this where we add application for OWP?

Is it just normal to see on ecas under applicants name, under application rceived for PR if icant see there if the medicals are not yet receive? Or they will just update that if they already received it?

medicals don't necessarily appear right away, no need to worry about it. In general once the sponsor is approved, it says "decision made" under sponsorship, and application received under application for PR. If you click on "application received" you might have a line saying "medicals have been received", but most of the time you have to wait until you have the sponsorship approval, and even after that it can take a week or ten days... and sometimes it never appears, and people get approved anyway... some VOs are better than others at updating ecas....
Good luck,

congratulations on the first stage, that's great! hope your VO is one that sends AOR (Acknowledgment of receipt) when the file gets there, it's always nice to know - but not all VO do that unfortunately.
Good luck,

Yah i hope they'll send us AOR (2nd stage) for us to know if they've already received and started working . Haha yay just so excited. Will it be updated in the ecas as well or not all or not that fast as well?

HELP!! ~ Link for Open work permit needed

I feel a bit ridiculous that I am unable to find the link for an open work permit application to add to our Sponsorship. Do we need an LMO? Do we fill out the "from outside of Canada one" and for that form write Not applicable as we are applying from inside Canada?
I can't seem to figure it out and would love your expertise!
Thanks

Just noted 1st stage approval is now at 35 days, working on applications received on September 26th!!

Wow this is a very good news yesterday it was 43days now down to 36days that's great. Good luck to all of us...

What does it mean if under applicants name and undersponsorship application status is already Decision Made? What is that decision made already? Is it the approval for sponsor? Thank you

ecas is not very reliable, it really depends on the VO and in the same VO, some officers are better at updating than others... so really it's difficult to say. AOR from VO are usually by emails. Ecas sometimes shows updates, but sometimes with quite a bit of time gap, so don't rely too much on it.
