Hello Everyone ,

Is that ok if we will submit our application together with my spouse passport? even if there are no request yet? Is there anybody who did that before? Applying for spousal application from Philippines.

Why would you submit your wife's passport with your application? The whole process can take a long time. To be without a passport for such a length of time is a little concerning. I would wait until Passport is requested , otherwise your wife could well be without her passport for maybe a year!

Morning@zhaturday no need to worry, just make sure your marriage
is genuine, send enough prove ex:photos, emails, letters,he has a job
so thats a good thing

I would like to ask you this:
My wife got approved to sponsor me but we sent some friends and family letters to support our relationship and our application just a couple of days before we received the approval letter.Do you think that we will be a problem for sending them the letters.

Please I would like to know thank you

Two ways. You can pay it via the CIC website, in which case the RPRF goes to CPC-M and they update the file to show that it has been paid. The second is that if you wait until the file is transferred to the VO, you can pay it directly to the VO. Directions for how to pay it to the VO are on the visa office's specific website as it can usually be paid in local or Canadian currency.

No, that won't cause any problems. It sounds like they weren't necessary, but hopefully they will match them up with the application so they are in the file when the officer starts reviewing your application (the sponsorship application doesn't look at your part.)

Good luck!

I was trying to look for really good information that will help us as me and my fiance plan to be together next year. We will gt married next month and after that he will start processing for sponsorship. However sir, based from Quebec immigration, one needs to be making at least $22,000 a year plus $15,000 per year to qualify as a sponsor. Sir, he only makes around $25,000 a year. =( I am extremely worried. But he told me, his other friends were able to sponsor their Asian wives and he is sure that they are not making $37,000 a year! The other guy even sponsored his wife and his daughter. =( Sir, in your opinion, is everything going to work out for us? =(

You are not bound by income requirements if you are sponsoring only a spouse and/or dependent children. You can see here: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/sponsors-sponsored/requirements-sponsor/prerequisites.html they list there all the relatives you must show funds to sponsor and spouse is not one of them.

HI! Leon/Seniors,

Need your help. My wife's status after telephonic interview now ecas shows up in process. Does this mean there is no further documents needed or personal interview? Can we expect decision made?

Two phases for evaluating the application:

Stage 1: evaluation of the sponsor. CPC-M looks through the application and confirms the sponsor is eligible. CPC-M does not evaluate the applicant.
Stage 2: evaluation of the applicant. The VO looks through the applicants paperwork, confirms the relationship is genuine, verifies that the applicant "meets all statutory requirements", and then requests your passport for issuance of the COPR and counterfoil (TRV - if necessary).

So my point is just that CPC-M doesn't evaluate your paperwork.

CPC-M will forward the relevant bits to the visa office. I was rather surprised at the physical documents that the VO returned to me along with my COPR (including pictures and the original documents I'd submitted to them.)

Sweet, thanks for that! :)

Hi,
I am in US with H1B visa and I got married to Canadian citizen in USA, May 2012. I have submitted my application for spousal sponsorship on Sep 2012. After submitting the application my Spouse traveled back to Canada (she stayed 5 months in USA as a visitor).
I am planning to get H4 visa for my spouse at border (port of entry) as she travels from Canada to USA by land.

My question is can my spouse live with me in USA by getting dependent visa (H4) until I get my PR ? Will this impact our spousal sponsorship application ?

I tried searching if my question was already posted in the forum but I did not find one (I may be wrong) if its out there then please can you provide the link to the same.

Thanks
Mohamed Khan

hi guys just wondering if background check for the applicant happens before passport request? or is it after? thank you!
