This is for anyone who may have applied for a visitor visa after acquiring the AOR on their outland spousal sponsorship application:

1. Is the processing time actually quicker for AOR-enabled applicants versus regular/independent visitor visa applicants?
2. What effect does an inbound spouse's visit have on the outland part of the application? Does it still stay outbound if the spouse is only visiting for a significantly short visit?
3. Lets say it ends up being a longer visit, does it still count as an outland application or does it have to be converted into an inland one?
4. Any other pros or cons regarding applying for a visitor visa to facilitate temporary visits while the PR application is in process? Or something else I can should keep in mind?

I found some information online but I wanted to come here and ask about real-life and recent experiences.

5. Does updating a spouse's address from home country to Canada automatically mean that their application will be processed in Canada?
6. Are there any application related needs like interviews, if needed, possible while in Canada or only from the home country?

These may seem like a lot of questions but simply trying to weigh my options. I hear processing times for outland sponsorship are fairly quick though we may want to consider other routes if convenient and feasible. Any help, suggestions or guidance is welcome.

Thank you!

2 & 3: It remains an 'outland' application but once the applicant is in Canada, there's no longer many significant differences.
5. "Where it is processed" is wherever IRCC chooses to do it. Neither inland nor outland automatically change that, nor does arriving in Canada change how they process it.
6. If IRCC requests an interview, they can say that it shall be done only in home country for an outland applicant. That said - interview requests are uncommon or even rare, and now they often just do them online. (This is one of the few distinctions remaining)

Hello Good evening, please i am a Canadian i have submitted the spousal sponsorship to sponsor my out of status over 90days partner. How do i apply work permit for her? We only have AOR. Should i apply by paper because the online isn’t working. We don’t have AIP yet. Can i still go ahead and apply for her by paper?
