You can certainly try for a visitor visa. It can be quite difficult to get, but there is no reason you can't apply.

Thanks tink23 for the response...so if it's quite difficult to get chances are i might just be wasting my time.

yes, if you were in india for more than 6 mo. after turning 18, you need to supply a record from that country. if you have been in the us 6. mo or more then you get an fbi record too.

Passport has been couriered from the Canada Visa Application Centre, on 21/08/2014 vide courier partner. To track the status of the shipment, please visit courier partner website. ...........any idea what it means approved or refuse.i didnt get t medical request

Thank you for your reply. Sorry i was not clear earlier.

What i meant is that if i am an Indian citizen in US on student visa, do i need to get both FBI clearance and state clearance from US? Or is only FBI clearance from US is enough?

right, i understod that. it doens't change the answer. if you were in india for 6 mo. or longer after you turned 18 then you need a police record from india. AND if you have been in the us for 6 mo. or longer, you ALSO need one from the FBI. it's pretty simple, and there isn't more than one answer to this question. this is specifically stated in the guide.

Thank you for much for your reply.

Sorry i was freaking out because someone also told me that in addition to FBI clearance, i also need to get NJ state police clearance (because i reside in NJ). Let me know if that is wrong so that i will not apply for the NJ state police clearance.

for the initial application, you do not need to get a state record. however, this doesn't mean CIC will not request one in the future. some applicants get this request, though most don't. it's dependant on each person's application. at this point, there is no need, since it may not even be valid if/when it ever is requested. if it's not specifically requested on the checklist, then it is not a REQUIRED document to submit the application.

For the B4 form, my husband is not bringing anything across right now (since we're flagpoling), but he does still have some things in the US that he will eventually want to bring across. Does he just fill out one B4 form and check the "Goods to follow - Yes" box and that's it? Or does he fill out the B4A form instead?

Hello! I'm new here. I would really appreciate if you can reply to my queries. I really need further explanations.

My husband lives in Canada, he's a permanent resident. He wants to sponsor me. We don't have a child yet. I'm done with all the requirements and I submitted the application form to him. Now we're having problems regarding the application to sponsor and undertakings as well as the sponsor evaluation. Does he needs to answer the conjugal-partner box which stated yes or no? or can he leave it blank? I need help. Please help me.

What exactly is the box asking you to check yes or no to?

Has he referred to the guide? Usually each question has further instructions in the guide for each specific form.

i believe th b4a form is for extra room if it's needed, so I *think* he needs to fill out the b4 form and check the box because that is the form that has all his personal info and signatures. i'm planning to bring multiple copies with me in case i do it wrong! it's a bit confusing, i know!
