good day fellow forumers!!!

i sent our application last Apr 5...and according to canadapost, it has been successfully delivered to CPC-M last Apr 10. I even paid additional fees so someone will sign it...

how will the CPC-M notify me if they really have my application already? are they going to send me email? or a snail mail??? how long will I wait? any idea?

If you sent it on a courier it should be fine. The sponsor will get an email if u specified onn your application about your email if not the CIC- M will sent a hard copy mail to the sponsor to let know if youre qualified for sponsorship on your spouse. After that a couple of months or so the principal applicant will received a hard copy letter (incase u didnt specify ur email and just put your home address) At that point you will know wether or not you need an interview or additional documents for that. That is called for a Passport request.
I hope this help you. ;)

It's fine, unless you already have an application in process you would not have a UCI yet. Everything is ok.

Yeah I got my PPR request yesterday and the Canadian EMbassy in Manila asked me to submit other documents the Appendex A and B. THey asked me to get a original NSO Advisory on Marriages along with my original passport.
Yes, I have my UCI number now. Good luck to us!! ;)

Thanks! Is your application already approved?? :D

yep. my husband landing on the 29th of this month.

No, no-one here knows how long it will take. You'll have to wait, appeals can take months to be scheduled to be heard.

Hello everyone!

Just want to ask if my husband could come to visit me for 3 weeks while our sponsorship is under process? He's in canada right now and he's planning to visit me this May or June 2012. He just submitted my spousal application this April 14 and by May or June he's planning to visit me. I hope it's possible:(

Thanks!

Leon has answered your question a while back:

Short answer: Yes, he can go, since he is a Canadian citizen.

I assume your husband is a permanent resident? If yes, then yes it's ok for him to go and visit you for 3 weeks. It must only be a visit because as a Permanent Resident, he must be living in Canada throughout the sponsorship otherwise you could get denied.
If your husband is a Canadian citizen then he cane come and visit you for any period of time that he likes. He can even live with u throughout the entire sponsorship if he wishes. If he is a PR though he is only allowed a visit, which probably should be a maximum of 3 weeks so they don't become suspicious and think he isn't filling his requirement as a sponsor/permanent resident, throughout his sponsorship of you.

They did not interview him. They called him Mar/14th for ppr, our original marriage cert. and his birth cert. and in 2 weeks they issued visa and it was in his hand. They also sent back everything from the application, like our pics etc.

Hey all,

Hang tight...you're almost at the end!

Have a quick question, let me know your thoughts. I emailed the VO where my spouse's application is because I had some addt'l docs I wanted to send and I was having trouble attaching the documents to the email, I asked them if I should even bother to mail in the stuff b/c it will take about 3-4 weeks to get there and I did not know what the status of my application was. They responded with this...

Dear Sir/Madam,

This refers to your email below.

Your application is in process. You can send the documents by mail. Once a decision is made the applicant will be advised.

My ecas still just says APPLICATION RECEIVED. Do you think they are using the term "IN PROCESS" loosely? Do they normally say something else if it is still in the "APPLICATION RECEIVED" stage? What's your take on this?

They sometimes don't bother about changing the eCAS status. Quite a lot of us have the 'Application Received' status on eCAS but the case is actually in process.

Hi Leon

I have read some in the forum that OWP is issued on the first stage approval, but it didn't say on the CIC website. I would like to know what if we didn't apply for the OWP when we submit the Sponsorship, can my husband still be given an OWP? or do we really need to apply for it? The application was on 9 months already, should we wait for 11 months or apply for OWP? Thank you.
