You don't need to meet specific income requirements to sponsor a spouse but they can refuse you if they do not think you two can support yourselves. You still have to send your printout C you get from the taxes and if you are not making much money, you should include a cover letter stating why you are not making a lot of money and how you expect that situation to improve in the near future. If your spouse is going to be the breadwinner, state that your spouse will be the one who is working.

Thank you so much. This helps a ton

Help I already sent out my passport and additional documents but forgot to include the copy of the ppr and the letter said that i should include a copy of it. What do I do??? Please help me. I really don't know what to do ???

My hubby got his Foss notes. Just would like to ask something. There's no remarks that would tell why our file was transferred to CIC-Vancouver admission office. In medical status-client case page, it says the following:

MEDICAL PROFILE H D T S E M1/9 IMS DOCTOR 03
DATE APPR/DENIED 21DEC2010 DATE EXAM 30NOV2010 SURV CODE
MED DIAG RC-A06

What does it means?

From Application Information, it says that the decision for medical and criminality is PASSED.

Also, There are few items that are blank in application information:
SECURITY
EXAM DEC
OIC
DEPENDANTS O/S MEET STAGE 2

What is the difference between criminality and security? If somebody knows what are the other items, can you please share with us?
In APRROVED IN PRINCIPAL line, it says "APPROVED 114(2)" but the date is blank.

In client history, I saw the word "SCLP" and the status"CHARGED OUT".
Also, "MEDOTT", and status "ACTIVE"
"X___________", Disp:PENDING

What are these documents? To explain further, The File no's started with 5133-xxxxxxxxx, 7001-xxxxxxxxxx, 9518-xxxxxxxx respectively.

In FILE INFORMATION
FILE NUMBER xxxxxxxxxxxx QUALIFIER TRIG TYPE OF FILE SCLP
CREATION DATE 29NOV2011
CHARGE-OUT DATE 14DEC2011 HOLDER LETT
LAST ACCESS DATE 14DEC2011 EXPIRY DATE
DATE SENT TO ARCH. PARC BOX NUMBER

Thank You guys for all the help.

hello everyone, I am new to this type of visa, but I'm learning quickly! I've been reading many posts but I haven't yet found one answering my questions. I do have two questions, which seems silly, but I'd love an answer.
Basic info on my situation:
I'm being sponsored by a Canadian citizen, under common-law class. We meet all the requirements (living together more than 12months, proof of relationship, funds, etc etc). We're applying on the outland application process - so everything will be sent to Mississauga first and then eventually to London, UK. We're both in Canada now. I'm currently on a work permit, which expires in two months time. I plan to leave Canada at the end of that visa and return to my home country of Ireland until my sponsorship visa is granted. My sponsor cannot leave Canada as he is in the Canadian Forces training.

Question 1:
Can I apply for the sponsorship visa while living here AND THEN leave Canada - WHILE my sponsorship visa is still being processed?
Question 2:
Also, may I leave and re-enter Canada as a visitor for a week or two holiday while my application is being processed? (to visit my common-law partner)

The reason I ask, some people have said to me that I should not be leaving Canada once my application is sent off. I am not aware of this being the case, but I am confirming!
Thank you to all who answer :)

If you are applying outland, you can come and go as you wish. It is inland that you can't leave.

Yes, you may apply using the old passport, then update the application later by sending a copy of the new one to the embassy.

You don't need a specific income or amount of money to sponsor her, but you need to show how you will support yourselves by submitting your most recent Option C/tax filing.

I have no idea as every case is individual, and since you haven't indicated which country she lives in I can't even tell you what the average is.

Medicals are done before and submitted with the spousal application.

hi,
u never knw when ND gonna change it to in process or straight way decision made .... the time frame of ND after sponsor approval is 6 months but generally they finished 80% of apps with in 4 to 6 months...
so hang on there buddy ..anyways what r ur timelines?

Thanx Funky

My timelines:
App received @ CPC-M 3/10/11
Sponsor Approved on 12/12/11

Since then no updates.

No worries, it's a normal procedure , so hang on tight...

Help Every one, need suggestions:

I havn't submit call records, skype screen shots etc at the time of submitting our application @ CPC-M because we stayed together in India for 1 month after our marriage
and we prepared/ready our documents while my spouse was with me in India, and she submitted file @CPC-M after a week (after landed in Canada) and she don't had any communication proofs at that time.
Now i want to upload these proofs.
My query is, should i submit the proofs or wait until VO asks for the same?
