Hi :) I got an E-mail today informing about an interview in the end of this month. Along with some documents, they've also told me to bring,
copy of your sponsor’s complete Personal Information form ( this must be in a sealed envelope)
What does this mean? Has anyone got the same thing before? Is there any application form of such issued by CIC?
Someone please help me.. any idea about this? :(

did you apply inland or outland? if you applied outland, try asking your question here:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-interview-questionaires-experience-preparations-t220698.0.html

if you applied inland, then ask the question in the inland thread.

also, note it may take some time for someone to accurately answer your question, so please be patient.

Yes, if your app is in London, you have sponsor approval. Check your email spam box to see if you missed the email they would have sent. Otherwise, call the Call Centre; they should be able to confirm when sponsor approval was given.

Note that the poster is asking about sponsor approval, not overall application approval.
Thanks canuck_in_uk, you understood my question, i am PA i haven't confirmed from sponsor side may be they have sent the email to my sponsor and i was thinking the same that my sponsor is approved that's why my application moved to London.

Yes, the sponsor would have received the email.

Hi All,

My wife is Feb 2016 applicant under family class category. File is processed at NDVO.

Below is some detail about our case:
1. Its 2nd marriage for both of us
2. Wife is in Canada on TRV since Dec 2015 and VR extension approved until Aug 2017
3. Oct 17th we received request for additional document [i.e. more marriage ceremony photographs]
4. Asked details + more relevant detail of living together since Dec 2015 are also shared and documents received by NDVO on 24th Oct

Various statuses/ info I found in GCMS is as below:
Eligibility - In progress
Medical - passed
Paper file location - FCU-DIS [This is on 17th Oct]
Counterfoil required - No
Eligibility status - Review required
paperfile location - FCU-CA Room (This was on 5th Oct]

Need to know what does FCU-DIS and FCU-CA Room signify?

Thanks & Regards,
Jul2014

Hello everyone,

I received my Permanent Residency in August 2016 and I am currently thinking of sponsoring my partner. We initially met in Province N.B when he came in as an exchange student. After his program ended, he applied as a full time student. He arrived in Canada in Nov 2015. By then I had found a job and moved to another province (N.S). Since his courses were not starting until Jan 2016, we lived together from Nov and he has been travelling back and forth until March 30, 2016. I then received PNP and eventually moved back so that we could continue living together. Is this considered a break in cohabitation or can I sponsor him as my common law partner

You cannot sponsor your BF through this reason as you have not lived together for a period of 1 year with no breaks. Following is the CIC definition of common law relationships.

Common-law partner
Refers to a person who is living in a conjugal relationship with another person (opposite or same sex), and has done so continuously for a period of at least one year. A conjugal relationship exists when there is a significant degree of commitment between two people.

This can be shown with evidence that the couple share the same home, support each other financially and emotionally, have children together, or present themselves in public as a couple.

Common-law partners who have been in a conjugal relationship for at least one year but are unable to live together or appear in public together because of legal restrictions in their home country or who have been separated for reasons beyond their control (for example, civil war or armed conflict) may still qualify and should be included on the application.

Will the application be refused at stage one or stage two. Also will I lose the full application fees.

Why would you even bother to waste your time and money?

To answer your questions:

1. You may be approved as the sponsor, so the refusal will likely happen during phase two (he would not be seen as a member of the Family Class, since he would not be your Common-Law partner).

2. You/he would lose the $75 fee for assessing [you] the sponsor for sure. If they refuse the application while checking his portion of the application package (where they determine that he does not qualify), you/he would also lose the $475 fee for applying for sponsorship.

So, again...why bother?

My friend applied for spousal sponsorship in late September 2016. He was approved and file was transferred to Nairobi after five weeks. He just received a letter for his wife to send in the passport along with a pre-paid coupon. One issue is since she is a refugee her passport/travel documents expire every two months.

Does the CIC have a priority on cases where the family member being sponsored is a refugee? I am not sure how/why they are asking for a passport so quickly?
That's a tough one. I would try and call CIC if I were your friend, it seems like a rare situation and you may need a more professional opinion. Best of luck!

TRV is a Temporary Residents Visa, it grants you temporary status in Canada meaning that you must leave the country when the TRV has expired. You cannot work under a TRV as far as I know.
