Female/Canadian who is I living in Canada, and my spouse is Mexican living in Mexico and we have a 2 year old daughter Canadian :

My documents were sent to Mississauga in OCT2014
In December they asked for another copy signed of the Sponsorship IMM008.
That was done and sent DEC2014.
Now on FEB05,2015 they sent a letter stating they have received my application with date of OCT2014.

I haven't heard anything else since. But when i checked online it states clearly ;
Sponsorship application has been recieved OCT2014 and Permanent Residency Application has been received OCT2014 and Medical results have been recieved OCT2014.

Im a little confused as nothing states if I was accepted as a sponsor.
Please someone shed some light on here..
Thank you very much

1. Will my wife be granted successfully a visitor dependent visa ?
2. Once she comes here can i sponsor her for PR ?
3. Can she get a open work permit /study permit while her spousal PR is in progress(even before stage 1) along with the same application point of #2 ?
4. can she travel outside Canada while the spousal PR is in progress. (which is currently estimated at 24 months )

1. Impossible to say. However it tends to be difficult to get visitor visas approved if you are married to a Canadian. You should assume it may not be possible for her to get a visitor visa.
2. Yes.
3. No - she won't be able to get an open work permit / study permit immediately. If you apply using the inland method, she will qualify for an open work permit approximately four months after the application is received by CIC.
4. No - she will need to remain in Canada. If she leaves Canada she may not be allowed back into the country in which case her inland application will effectively be canceled.

If you want the most flexibility, you should marry her before you get PPR and add her to your PR application now.

Hola Paquita,

I recommend to call CIC (better early in the morning), and ask where you case stand. Often the web page is not updated immediately after an application has been approved, or a change in the process has occurred.

First off, stop spamming the forums. Secondly, post your question to the Foreign Workers or International Students section (whatever the case may be), then wait for a response. Good luck.

No - you can't sponsor your wife from outside of Canada. Since you are a PR, you can only sponsor your wife while living in Canada and you must continue living in Canada while the application is being processed. The fastest way you can take your wife with you is through a visitor visa. However there is unfortunately no guarantee the visitor visa will be approved.

Code:
[i]If your spouse is staying in Canada as a visitor or on some other visa, you can pick whether you want to apply outland or inland. Outland is generally faster and has appeal rights but a downside to outland is that if an interview is required, your spouse will have to travel to the visa office in the country where it's being processed. [/i]

This was an excellent bit of information! Thanks for posting!

doN;T WASTE YOUR MONEY. tHEY MAKE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET VISITOR VISA. i HEARD A LOT OF STORIES PEOPLE SHOWED BANK ACCOUNTS PROPERTIES STILL GOT REFUSED. RATHER, YOU CAN GO SEE HER.

Hey Guys

need some urgent help here, would be thank ful to you.

I had applied for OPNP PR. My medicals is done. I am expecting the passport request in couple of months.

Assuming I have my PR in hand by May (worst case situation planning ) - I am supposed to get married in June(my fiance is in India), and would like to ensure the below points A, B and C are satisfied

a. expect my wife to join me in toronto as soon as possible and
B. she should be able to work/study (open work permit )
c. she should be able to travel outside canada even after she comes to Canada for the very first time

about my fiance : has worked for software company in india for 4 years. She had left job for about 6 months now. I am not sure if she can show immovable assets at this point in time. But she has a fixed deposit. parents are in india, her sister is in Europe studying.

But i am not sure of the below :

(which is currently estimated at 24 months )

please let me know, thank you in advance.

Just curious, once an outland sponsorship is completely approved, how long is the permanent visa valid for? What's the time limit for us to enter Canada?

Well it varies...
but generally the VISA deadline is limited by MEDICAL RESULTS expiry date...

so it depend on Medical date of applicant.....
hope that it answers ur question
