Guys if any of you can clarify this for me please:

On ECAS I have the following:

Sponsorship Application Status: In Process
Permanent Residency Application Status: Decision Made

I talked to a lawyer and his opinion was that this may be a mistake on the system as sponsorship application is suppose to be updated to DM first.

Thoughts anyone?

When a positive decision is made, the DM is always shown on the PR side on ecas, very rarely is the sponsorship application status updated after sponsor approval.

Send them a CSE and if you get no response in 2-3 days then go see your MP. And given your medical is also expired, not forgetting the fact that you have DM since 3 months, you should definitely go see your MP if LVO doesn't respond back soon.

I have a question, who should fill up the Appendix A while requesting the PPR, Only principal applicant name should be there or spouse information too?
Is it only information for the person who is getting the PPR? Thanks

Yay masha'Allah, congratulations!! May I ask did you get the DM status change before the PPR email, or did you get PPR email directly with no DM?

And yes since you're from Karachi, you have to submit all the requested documents to VFS global Karachi.

Alhamdulilah my wife received Passport Request today.

Please advise how do we submit it in Karachi VFS ? Do we take the passport with letter and two photos there and they will put it in the envelope with Islamabad Address or do we have to do anything ?

Quite obvious it's a mistake otherwise they wouldn't have processed ur permanent resident application so congrats n relax!!!

Hi,

My brother-in-law received a letter from London office with Section 117 (9) objection. The nikkah was held in 2002 over telephone.

My sister did visit Pakistan for official marriage (ruksuti) in 2004 and has lived in Pakistan for several years with my brother in law. They have 3 children.

My sister has been in Canada for the past 2-3 years and has sponsored my BIL using family class. The London office has sent following letter:


Section 5 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations states that for the purposes of these Regulations, a foreign national shall not be considered
(c) the spouse of a person if at the time the marriage ceremony was conducted either one of both of the spouses were not physically present unless the person was not physically present at the ceremony as a result of their service as a member of the Canadian Forces and the marriage is valid both under the laws of the jurisdiction where it took place and under Canadian law.
Subsection 117. (9) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations states that A foreign national shall not be considered a member of the family class by virtue of their relationship to a sponsor if
(c.1) the foreign national is the sponsor’s spouse and if at the time the marriage ceremony was conducted either one or both of the spouses were not physically present unless the foreign national was marrying a person who was not physically present at the ceremony as a result of their service as a member of the Canadian Forces and the marriage is valid both under the laws of the jurisdiction where it took place and under Canadian law;


Any suggestions on how we should respond to this ? Since the Nikah is already done in 2002, we cannot have another Nikah in person as this isn't allowed in Islam.

Should we consult a lawyer ? What about the fact that my sister and BIL were together during the marriage (ruksati) in 2004 ?

Ya my status is still showing In Process.. No DM yet.. Last week I sent email to my Visa officer .. And asked him abut my aplication status with the subject Urgent on it.. And Mashallah today without any DM I received email of passport request.. Cant wait to see my husband..

Thanks for the reco snowy2015. I've done exactly that, i sent them a CSE yesterday. Lets see ..... if i dont hear back in a couple of days or till next week, I'll be paying my MP a visit.
