Can you fill us in on how you will submit your passport for ppr? Do you have to return to Pakistan to do this? Does the ppr request sent to you tell you where to submit your passport to? My husband is in Saudia and we will also be in similar case and would like to know if we would have to go back to Pakistan once ppr comes?

Hi Senior Members,

Need some expert advise. We submitted our application in early 2014, and have been waiting patiently for our file to be processed. Almost 21 months have passed by and we have not received any re-medical or additional document request. GCMS notes just state that the file is in Active Processing. Need to clarify two things:

1) We have been told recently that our file is in Background Verification Checks since 25th February 2015. Does this process usually takes more then 8 months ?? Is it normal ?? What is it that we can do to get this resolved, so our file goes to the next steps of the process.

2) Is there any person we can write to regarding our case, as we believe this Background check is taking way too long. Our file has been in Background checks since last 8 month & there are applicants in 2015 with files completed and COPR granted with in 7 months.

Your help and guidance in this matter will be really appreciated.

Hello Haz,

1 - Who did you get this information from ? If LVO contacted you directly, you should email them ASAP. This process doesn't take that long.
If you can, get an MP involved so he can push a bit to LVO for status update (decision made) Insha Allah.

2 - In my signature, there is a link for CSE. Send LVO a CSE as soon as possible.

LVO is not fair with a lot of people. Yes, people in 2015 are getting their PPR and we are stuck having applied in early 2014. But we should be thankful to Allah that at least our brothers and sisters are getting PPRs.

Make a lot of dua insha Allah you will hear good news soon. Make dua for us too !

Sohaib how to find out who is ur visa officer ?

When I received an email asking to send Urdu nikah nama with translation. At the very bottom it states the address of visa office and officer code name as well (for example):

1) After sending a case specific inquiry, I got an email from LVO stating that my file has been in Background verification since Feb 25, 2015 and they will contact us if they have any further updates. They told the same thing to our MP's office.

Its evident after reviewing other applicants processing time that Background checks do not take 8 months like us. My wife has not traveled outside Pakistan. Also, all her credentials are from well established educational institutes.

2) I am thinking of sending another CSE, but is there any other route that I can take so our file gets moved to the next step.

SO, do your notes say Criminality: started or security: started/in process? What does it say about eligibility? Is that finalized/started/not started? At the end of the notes there are always comments that the VO leaves, does that suggest that the case has been reviewed yet?

This is ridiculous that 8 months should be spent in background checks. People are getting their cases from in process to Decision made to PPR within weeks and one case is stuck for 8 months!! I wish I knew better what cic is doing in their office, seriously!

I don't really know what sending more enquiries would do though, background checks are done by the Pakistani authorities so maybe the Islamabad VO needs to be involved somehow?

Should I be concerned or is this normal procedure. I was talking to someone I know and they said that there is something wrong. They only send a letter if they reject your application. I don't know why it would be rejected. I am a Canadian citizen with clean record. Someone please help.
