and I have noticed if the applicant is the husband, then the case is processed faster, might be because wife are considered less "risky"..lol..

Also, if you notice in the 2015 spreadsheet, its mostly the wives sponsoring husbands cases that are now in process on ecas.
This is what he meant. Applicant = sponsored person.

Urgent Question

one of my friend applied for his wife in Dec-2014
and today he received all his original documents
on ecas its showing in-process but he is worried why they returned the original document so early without any documents.. can someone help him to know why cic did that?
After the sponsor/applicant has passed eligibility assessment, there really is no need for CIC to hang on to the originals is there?
I expect he will have a DM in 2 to 3 weeks.

Respected Fellows / moderators,
I'm very new to this group. Actually my case is submitted in Mar-15 just few days after birth of my baby and my wife's sponsorship was accepted within two months, now my (principal applicant) case is in progress.
It's been quite long but I don't know what is going on? Even my baby has grown 6 months. What should I do? Should I apply visit visa or what? Please i'll be highly obliged if any one guides me.
Thanks

Assalam o alaikum,

Here is my timeline:

Upfront Medical: 22 November 2014
Application Filed: 26 November 2014
LVO Transfer: 18 February 2015
In Process on ECAS: 14 August 2015
In Process*: Another line added to ECAS stating that application was started processing in March 2015
Decision Made: 28 August 2015
Passport Request: 1 September 2015

I think the key here is that I did my medical very close to a date to which I was filing my application. Secondly, The completeness of the application I filed. I made a very comprehensive application so that CIC don't ask for any additional documentation during the processing which might cause any delays.

Thanks.
congratulation

Mercy, I was thinking that adding a few more details to the spreadsheet may help.

I did mention one factor before, it was that if people order notes or put in a case specific inquiry, it may delay the process atleast a little bit.

another point I thought of is, how many of these applicants went on a honeymoon? and was it within Pakistan or abroad?

I could be wrong, but my theory is that going for a honeymoon abroad such as maldieves may help convince the office that the relationship is genuine, because if it wasn't why would they spend $5000 and up on a honeymoon. that being said, it doesn't mean that people that don't spend so much on a honeymoon or go abroad for one are not a genuine case. Some people don't have the time or money or they may have other issues. But for those that do go abroad that may help make their case go faster?

what are your thoughts?

and I have noticed if the applicant is the husband, then the case is processed faster, might be because wife are considered less "risky"..lol..
Dear Sir,

I am volunteering my time to update the spreadsheet. It is very taxing on my time to collect the current set of data on a continuous frequent basis for each individual applicant.
There are many other basis factors that can affect an individual case which you are not taking into consideration.
For example, a previous marriage, failure of undertaking, criminal record, no rukhsati that can have a much bigger influence on processing times.
Whether a honeymoon was taken in Pakistan or outside is really not a factor.
Whether you order GCMS notes or not is really not a factor.
It may appear that ordering notes will delay your processing time but the truth is --- IT DOES NOT.
It is only because notes are ordered more frequently on complicated cases, giving it the appearance of causing more delay.

Spousal Sponsorship: I checked E-Cas after a Week or so. Status Changed to "In Process" & another line added that we started processing your application in March 2015.

Now i wonder if that means that they have gone through my file.

Re: SPOUSAL Sponsorship PAKISTAN @ London Visa Office

Salam o Alaikum all,

I'm preparing documents to sponsor my wife.
She has changed her name after marriage from Amina Ali to Amina Asad. I need to deposit her birth certificate along the application.
Should we get a birth certificate from Union Council/NADRA with her original name Amina Ali or with the new name Amina Asad 'changed after marriage'? How does this affect the application?
Thanks
