at end of status in GC, there is application message and they attached a request letter (PDF file) and in it they have asked for passport

they asked for your passport. what do you think that means?

no wonder it takes LVO ages to process pakistani applicants.

In that pdf if you are visa exempt country then upload copy of passport and if you are not visa exempt country then send passport to Islamabad and they have attached a sheet in which PA and sponser information to be filled.

So it means they require passport to submit because neither me or PA received any email.
Normally how they ask for passport to submit

fill out the form and follow their instructions on how to submit your passport to islamabad.

when in january 2016 did you submit your spousal app? and when was your upfront medical completed?

Yes its Jan 2016 application and upfront medical was completed in october. I am so so so happpppppppyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Thanks alot my LORD and my all dear brothers on forum for help and guidance
@Flx2015 normally they send the request for passport like this or they send an email and in background check it says in progress

Hey guys,

I received sponsor approval 2 days ago. We applied from Dubai and my husband is from Pakistan. CIC sent his visa application to London visa office and I am very confused here. I thought Abu Dhabi will be his visa office as we applied from UAE

Processing times are very different for Pakistan and UAE. Which one will apply on us? ???

when did your background check status change from "not started" to "in progress" in MyCIC (or GC as you call it)?

As soon I login today to check the status, it showed background check: in progress and and in submitted documents: we need an additional document

january 2016. no doc request, so they extended his/her medical (completed october 2015) and issued a direct PPR. same as the december 2015 applicant who got ppr last week. seems that applicants without doc requests are getting through quicker, which makes sense i guess.

these last two weeks have been crazy. :-\
