congrats! we are April 2016 applicant too and we got that same AIP letter 4 months ago (except we already had medical approved and didn't need anything more) and since then nothing at all, so the wait continues.....

hoping for some luck for both of us, it seems like we are in the "forgotten" months :(

keeping fingers crossed that this won't drag into 2018 and beyond ........
It is ok, just waiting for the last appointment. With health insurance and work permit, we do not have any anxiety no? So be patient, the process will be closed soon. Enjoy everyday life and good luck.

Sorry... do you see only Decision Made on the sponsor side or on both sides? If only on the sponsor side, that just mean SA (sponsor approval). If on both side, then you are really done. I hope you have it on both sides...

Yes on the sponsor side SA cause my wife must redo the medical exam before the end of October. And this morning, She had been registered in RAQM thanks to AIP letter.

Eh congrats!

They only upgraded you to a two year card? Normally it's 5 years....
yes, generally its 5 yrs but he mentioned the algorithm that is used is a bit weird and first one issued is always for a shorter duration ending on the b'da

thanks, yes with AIP they gave it for 1 yr
They have some algorithm by which it selects the b'day date and some random year...he said the next one would be 5 yrs

What you mean they have some algorithm for release the PR? Now they releasing for everyone PR with 2 years expiration or is just in your case?

Mine expires on my birthday in 2018 as well.

I think what happens is, if you applied for the card and got it before your PR was approved, they just let it expire on your birthday in the year they initially set it to expire even after you become a PR. And then you'll get a new one which will be valid for 5 years. I'm in BC and I have a BC Services Card. Not sure how the system is in other provinces though.

I'm still confuse,if you apply for PR how you can get it before you
