There has been a little back and fourth with CIC as of late, but nothing to write home about. I'm still waiting to see my wife's GCMS notes to see if we are in a targeted group for the inventory reduction exercise or not. I had to resubmit the consent form because we filled it out wrong. Otherwise, just living life..

Got the actual OWP in the mail today.

PDF letter was sent last Friday.

App received by CIC June 17th.

I have received my work permit application number , I applied for both my work permit as well as my spousal sponsorship at the same time I have separate application numbers for both how would I go about attaching it to my online account on CIC?

That blurb about paperwork is if you are calling the CIC Call Centre. That way you can reference things like UCI and Application Number. You can change it online in myCIC, ECAS (CIC Check Status), CSE (Case Specific Enquiry), or by calling the Call Centre.

After the CIC replied to me via CSE, stating that they already forwarded my concern (PCC 2nd Request) to the appropriate department. So far still no reply from that appropriate department handling the PCC. Even a confirmation for the mailed Certified true copy of my PCC and explanation letter, still no update.

I am still patiently waiting for the rubber-stamping to resume. Once it does, I bet it will be fast and furious. They are not close to the new quota yet (according to what I can see, and their June 30 statistics).

Your work permit only permits you to stay in Canada. It does not permit you to cross the border. If you are from a visa-exempted country you may be able to pass CBSA when you return with little issue. If you are from a visa-requiring country, then you will still need a valid visitor visa to return. If the CBSA does not permit you entry for whatever reason, it is possible that CIC will deem your application abandoned (because you left and did not return). Also it has been said that they frown on long durations of time out of the country.

Just checked the mycic login, and OWP has been approved. what a big relief!

App received by CIC on 6th June 2016, so it took close to 4 months.
For those who are waiting for OWP, this may be the probable time line and all the best to all of you!
