Np. I know this because we have spoken to ServiceOntario MOHLTC about OHIP for my wife. It seems that there is two streams here: OWP + 6 months of employment, or AIP that are ServiceOntario's requirements for signing you up.

I applied for inland sponsorship (common-law).
App Received: 02/08/2016
Aor to sponsor's email: 23/08/2016 (just email no attachment)
Aor to my email (Applicant) : 24/08/2016 (PDF attachment )
Sent PCC on 24/08/2016 via web form (CIC agent advised me to do that)

My question is was that AOR we recieved??? What do these email mean???
Also how do I check the status online ??

Did I read that right? You said app receieved Aug 2nd 2016... Your profile has:
Category........: Other
Visa Office......: Bangalore
App. Filed.......: 12-06-2014

Did it take them 2 yrs and 2 months to answer?? Or is this another filing?

So to answer your original question, now that I have clarification, AOR1 just states they received the application, the date they received it. In our case, the principal applicant (my wife) didn't receive any notice at all. I received the AOR via email with no attachment. The AOR also contains information about how to withdraw, etc.

The PCC is par for the course around here. Sounds like you are on the path.

Checking status online: Application number or UCI is required. Either CIC check status (ecas; not really useful): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp or MyCIC (much more useful!): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp .

Could take them up to a month, as they have to digitize all the paperwork first. Try ecas first. If you can logon there, then you should be able to logon to myCIC.

When I enter the application number, and my (the sponsor's) Surname/birthdate I can see both application statuses

Just an update...I choose to do my medical upfront AFTER I had submitted my application, as you can see from the profile I did the medical on 22nd july and submitted a PDF copy of the report (I still have the original that was meant for IRCC) on the 23rd July as an attachment on a CSE, requesting it was attached to my file.

I received an email 15 days later stating it had been forwarded to the appropriate department.

Today I received a report that MYcic had updated my profile, I logged in to find my medical has changed from not needed at this time to passed.

So you can do the medical without waiting for the letter from CIC, and if you do it seems you can update by scanning the report and sending it as a PDF, and if you do it seems to take 30 days to update on your file.

No idea. From what I know, it's a magical thing that just grew in our mailbox one day.... like a magic beanstalk...
