sad to think about this, it felt like there was hope and then all of the sudden no progress at all, we are beginning of April 2016 applicant, got DM on sponsor side a while ago but since then nothing at all, hopefully this will all be finished before the end of 2017
I'm sure you'll be done way before the end of 2017! I know the feeling, trust me, but in the end, you know your application will be accepted. Just hang on, don't let the process affect you.

I been here in the flask since August 2013, if i get 1/2 day for each day i been here ( i think that's what it is), then citizenship is around the corner.
Am not making it stress i, when they call i will answer, until then , i just live.

So 3 generation of you fixing one car. Hahahaha 3 the hard way? The good , the bad, and. . . . . The third person
Did it get done? Will it be able to pass emission? Ha ha ha
It wasnt a Lada?
For the count of your citizenship, a maximum of 1 year can be counted prior to PR, so two years after PR will be the earliest you can apply for citizenship.

Quick question. Probably a very basic one but.. I want to be sure I am doing things right.

Do I need police certificates and medicals for my parents and my sister even if they are not included in the application? I just got email from Cic confirming my eligibility for the program and there was a short paragraph about that:

"
Please note thata final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanentresident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks
for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they
are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident
until you and all your family members have met these requirements."

Any ideas?

someone else can confirm, but I think "if applicable" only refers to dependents

Under the new law, immigrants only need to have lived in Canada for 1,095 days, within a five-year period, to be eligible for citizenship.

Previously, the Conservatives required immigrants to be in Canada for 1,460 days within a six-year time period before they could apply to be citizens.

“We want all permanent residents, if possible, to become Canadians,” said Canada’s Immigration Minister, Ahmed Hussen, in a statement.

Thanks for a quick reply!

That`s my thinking too. I hope that more people will confirm.

The changes introduced by Bill C-6 also eliminate the government’s ability to revoke citizenship on national security grounds from citizens who hold dual citizenship.

Individuals who lost their citizenship because it was allegedly obtained fraudulently will also be given the right to appeal the decision in federal court.

As well, children under the age of 18 will be allowed to apply for citizenship without the consent of their parents.

Bill C-6 was first passed by the House of Commons a year ago, but it spent the last year winding its way through the Senate before recently being approved

You'll find all the highlights of the new law here:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ws/2017/06/bill_c-6_receivesroyalassent0.html

The section regarding time prior to PR states: Applicants may count each day they were physically present in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person before becoming a permanent resident as a half-day toward meeting the physical presence requirement for citizenship, up to a maximum credit of 365 days.

Photos only for the PA, they are for the PR card. But the sponsor should have photo ID. Just follow what was listed in the landing appointment letter and don't stress, everything will be fine and done quite fast. Congratulations!

Also selfies or it didn't happen...

See... I knew you'd poke fun! Lada, cause of the Russian wife... Funny guy lol

Nah charger. And my dad is an old school mechanic. I apprenticed years ago but smartened up. My kid is 4. So we got a tough starter out and in, in an afternoon. And only took half the engine out

I neither have sponsor approval nor AIP. They asked for medicals again despite having done upfront medical. CSE responses take ages, hence I did medicals again today.

Now, I see that they have started processing June and July applications. Was hoping April applications would get completed by July'17. But it doesn't seem like I will be landing anytime soon.
