About the processing, yes I agree they can definitely start processing January'17 applications or just some recent random picks to show a low average processing time.
They updated myCIC last week (I think?) and a whole bunch of people started getting requests for things (Meds, Documents) that had no attachments in myCIC for them.
Recently MyCIC updated to 'We need an additional document from you...' Turns out it was a glitch.
CIC previously had a message on their website explaining the glitch. They conveniently removed the message and the day after that my MyCIC status updated - had they left the message as a warning to applicants who are already worried and confused, it would've been quite a help. (Sadly it seems CIC's IT department has quite an ego - they prefer further confusing applicants and overburdening the already exhausted Call Centre staff than admit a failure.)
P.S.: I'm all whiny!
Personally, I suspect it's in-fighting between SSC (Shared-Services Canada) and IRCC (if they have an internal IT department). All government IT is supposed to be done by SSC. It's how they have structured the government IT systems in such a way, to be able to deal with threats and fend off attacks, while still providing "excellent" services.
Unfortunately, they don't seem to follow ITIL standards...

If you have the request, and it has an IME# in it, then it's legit. The hallmark of non-legit was no paperwork attached to the request.

I would be waitimg till the 20 June if they update my earlier test. Else, I'm taking the medical test again.
So, the IVR and my GCKEY says I've successfully passed the medical. Good news at least however the physician forwarded it to Ottawa? Why Ottawa?

What in the world.... lol why? At least that's good to hear it's common that it's not sent to Mississauga.
It's wherever they have processing time WRT "Regional" Medical Examiners to "verify" the physicians findings. Turns out, they had time one day in ND.

I just received the medical request today and booked an appointment for tomorrow. Just wondering normally how long it takes to pass the medical after the doctor submitting it? Hope AIP and landing is not far away!
