@Simpsol22: First of congrats for the tumultuous achievement and thanks for sharing it here, I was wondering if it actually takes 2-3 months and what if I need to travel to US between PR and card. Can I show any document to the US visa office which says I am a PR and do you envisage any problem re entering through the border?

Thanks again
Sam

Hi GuyanaGirl. Most people say ECAS is updated before MyCIC.

Hi Hafeez, you can apply right away, as soon as you receive your marriage certificate.

Sam, if you need to travel between PR and receiving the card, you can apply for a PRTD (permanent resident travel document). You must be outside Canada to apply.

Traveling by private car on land is fine without the PR card. But if you are flying, as browning911 mentioned you'd need a PR travel document. I hear they take around 5 days and have to be mailed to the address you are staying outside Canada.

Hello guys.. please see my case and suggest as soon as possible..

I am ontario PNP - PR Inland october 2015 applicant. On feb 6th (this month) i got my PPR. I sent my passport and in that letter it was mentioned to submit info on any marriage or legal separation. On dec-8 2016 i got married in India and my spouse is India right now. I flew back to canada in January. So i send them the marital status update. Yesterday i received an email from CIC to fill list of documents regarding my spouse and also to pay the processing fee and RPRF fee ($550 + $490) if my spouse intends to accompany me to canada. so i was completely confused and nervous about my PPR stamping. here is my qsns:
1. If I choose my spouse not to come to canada RIGHT NOW and didn't pay the fee, do they review the spouse documents and will process only my PR file and will send my passport back with PR documents.
2. If i choose my spouse to come to canada NOW and pay the fees, do they hold my PR file and my Spouse's PR file and process it and then will send my passport back to me. and what is the processing time for this case to review and process my spouse PR.. because if its 10 months or 12 months i can't leave my passport with them for that much time...

please help !!!
Thanks.
Not sure many of us in this thread can help with the Provincial Nominee Program application. I do know that you must declare your spouse on your app, like you did. But, i'm just not sure how it works if you do not want to bring them here with you now. You may want to try posting in this part of the forum: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/provincial-nomination-program-immigration-b6.0/

IMM 5406 is not for dependent children, but to get the picture of what your whole family looks like....it's not about who is coming to Canada. It's a required form for all applicants.

For IMM 5669...if they say there are gaps look to make sure the start of one month matches the ending month from the previous.
It should also include every year of your life from the past 10 years, even if you lived at one place for more than one year. out of my mind why they are making it complicated in this way. My IMM5669 was returned because they asked for the period 2014 and 2015 which was clearly mentioned on the form. :-\

Please HELP ME!
I received this email yesterday. In my email has not ever been a message to the required passports for visa.
I may risk being refused a visa???

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Subsection 16(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

On 5 January 2017 you were requested to provide your passports for visa issuance. To date these have not been provided. If these are not provided a decision will be taken on your application based on the information on file.

Odd....are you sure there weren't any gaps during that time?

I responded to your pm....but will post here too...just contact cic on Monday morning to let them know you never recieved the request. As long as you get in contact with them and request an extension for the deadline on getting them what they need you'll be fine.

Hi Eldis,

Please check your junk email. What about your spouse who was also supposed to receive a copy of the mail!!

Anyway, you somehow missed their correspondence. Do they have correct email addresses of you and your spouse in their record?? So please communicate with them asap:

I have confusions...did you collect GCMS notes to know what anomalies they found and may have asked for clarification?

1) Email them saying you haven't received their said correspondence. Don't forget to give your UCI number, file number, mailing address, updated email addresses of you and your spouse.
2) Tell them you are a bit surprised and shocked to receive this letter. You are ready to send them passports and whatever papers or documents as required.
3) Let your spouse in Canada contact her local federal MP asap to immediately intervene towards resolving the issue.
4) Submit online on the CIC website a self explanatory letter responding to the issue asap.

If they gave you 30 days time to send your passport, it would be difficult to reverse....so act very fast....

Hope things will work out fine eventually.

Good luck!

Hasan

Hi guys,

My consultant just told me that for people who applied before December 7 , 2016 , the processing time remains the same of 26 months. We applied in May 2016 , and looking at the CIC's speed of processing the applications , I am wondering if that is true , so would it actually take around 26 months only for our applications? Coz when I read the CIC website , its given that priority will be given the ones whose files are already in processing before Dec 7 , 2016.So guys, What are your views upon this?
