Thanks for your reply.
I already have it but because of expiration of my passport
it will expire on May, 2017. So I would like to update it.
If you submit paper application by mail it will take 117d whether if you submit online
it will take 27d.

The process is just like filing a new owp...you complete the application again and pay another 255. There is a trick to doing it online. I'll try to find instructions I'd you need them.

October 10th 2015 married ! ON our 10 year anniversary :-*

Congrats! We got married on the exact same date :D

So DH's work permit will expire beginning of July. Given the current progress, I'm not sure how long we should wait until we should apply for his owp... I'm hearing from people that it's taking longer to receive their owp, so perhaps wait until end of March? Will that give us enough time?

Given the current speed of application completions, I would wait until May 2017. By that time you may not even need it.

I sure hope so! Is it possible to receive owp within 1-2 months? He's working right now, so we definitely don't want it to be affected. It just feels so close, yet so far... lol Called CIC yesterday and they told us everything is fine and just wait... sigh

WONDERFUL ! Anniversary buddies :D

So i just applied for an extension to my husbands OWP ( Expires May, with his passport that has been been replaced since we filed)
I cut it a bit close in terms of time and hope it comes like it did the last time, which was in 3.5 months.

You have some options, you either pay that 255 now, apply and call it a "peace of mind just incase" fee so he can keep working in the event it takes a while to come or you don't land by then, or you can cross your fingers you get landed by then....
I have a feeling you might land before then...then again i have feelings about a lot of things... :-X

Keep in mind, as long as you apply prior to your current work permit expiring, you can keep working until a decision is made on the new application.
