If CIC receives 500 applications per day since it opens, I hope it's not filled up yet.

7 business days (Jan 2,3,6,7,8,9,10) x 500 = 3,500 applications.

Hope for the best.

You probably need to read http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/some-insights-related-to-the-current-threshold-of-2014-parents-sponsorship-apps-t180756.0.html

According to the guide:
Question 4

Immigration Office requested for the processing of your application
Note:If you are applying for refugee protection from within Canada or being sponsored from within Canada, this question does not apply to you. Go to Question 5.

"Being sponsored from within Canada": if the parent is in Canada on supervisa, would they be in this category?
I have the same question, if the parent is on supervisa, would they be an "inland" application

There is no "inland" application for PGP. All PGP applications are considered to be outland applications. The "inland" application are reserved for spousal sponsorship.

Thanks

Those who already mailed applications -

Which address did you use to mail your package?

I have used the following address. I sent it through Xpresspost by Canada Post.

Case Processing Centre – Mississauga PGP
Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship
2 Robert Speck Parkway, Suite 300
Mississauga, ON L4Z 1H8

I just talked to Canada Post and they have informed me that the above address is not a office. It's like a facility, where Canada Post delivers the package and someone from CIC will pick up and sign the delivery notice.

That is the address for courier service. So it is not the main office where they do all the processing of application. Probably like they say, a warehouse where all the packages arrive based on dates.

Did any of you specify your email address in the Sponsorship form? I read somewhere that if you specify an email address, all correspondence from CIC will come to that email address instead of regular mail. Is that true for AOR (Acknowledgement Of Receipt) as well?

98% of the time, if you submit email in application, you will get all correspondences by email including AOR, assuming the sponsor included email as well.

Yup, our case was finalized last year.

Everything (AOR, Decision, Request for Docs, PPR) was by email, to the email of the principal applicant.
That includes communication from both CPC-M as well as the Visa offices.

How long did the entire process take for you from start to finish?

The instructions on Form 5406E Additional Family Information is as follows:

"Complete ALL names in English and in your native language (for Example, Arabic , Chinese...or Japanese characters)"

Does this mean we have to fill the names out in English and also hand write the same names in the native language characters (say in Hindi or other etc)?

There is a similar requirement on Form 5669 Question 2 where you have to indicate the name in your native language as well.

Appreciate your help.

Thank You.

Can you supply the email addresses via which cpc-m and visa office communicated with you? I want to basically add those email domains in my email clients safe sender's list to prevent any cic communication going into my junk mail and getting missed by me. Thanks.

The emails we got from CPC-M were from:
AOR email: Client-update-mise-a-jour@cic.gc.ca
Stage 1 approval email: CPCM-EXTCOM@cic.gc.ca

Visa office email will depends what visa office processes your app.
