What about this.....process the first 5000 received and then hold on to the next 2000 received that are correct and those 2000 get processed first the following year? Then accept 3000 plus 2000 next year...and so on? They have to catch up with that backlog at some point!

Last year I sent my app in February and was way too late, so this year I was on the ball and sent it in on Jan 2 and got it to CPC by Monday Jan 5 at 8:13am but seems that still wasn't early enough! Next year I might apply and due to higher volume and courier error get it in on Jan 2 but late afternoon...I STILL won't make it into the 5000 cap!

Couriers will have to be setting up tents on the sidewalk (like for boxing day sales) in order to get in to CPC office first!! :o
ITS CRAZY

You did not have the worst luck. Read someone's comment a few pages earlier, that he has been trying to apply since 2011.

Their answer as above proves that the delivery time confirmation is incorrect. If they are not able to help you to know the actual time then why they confirmed that it is delivered at 8:45 ????

I don't understand how this time stamp was placed in the tracking. There's no way it was by the scanner. They must manually typed that time in.

my application was delivered on Jan 2 at 11:21 via Canada Post. CC was just charged (10 minutes ago)

Thanks for the update. It seems like we will get to processing of applications received till Jan 2nd mid day by end of today.

Also, i am pretty sure at least all received applications on Jan 2nd will be within 5000 cap.

Hi

Application delivered on 2nd Jan, 2015 by 11:00 am

I think not many applications received in the afternoon of Jan 2 because most couriers tried to deliver in the morning before 12pm. If they are processing up to 11am Jan 2 then Jan 5 should expect something soon (at least that is my hope)

Among all couriers, only Purolator gave us a fake time! I think we should at least try to call the costumer center or chat with them online and let them know how much of frustration they caused! apparently, the driver did not even wait in the line for that... left the line to everyone else until it got less busy!

5000 shipments delivered that day :o

I think Purolater is pulling everyone's leg. Not telling the truth but if that is true everyone should call their member of Parliament and complain. You should really complain because unless you are vocal and make the member of Parliament realize they have problems they will not change and keep the quota at 5,000. It will be the same every year until we change governments and this is an election year. You need to make them remember you vote....

Congrats!

But CC charged tomorrow? FYI, I've added you to the google spreadsheet.

Increasing the cap or even removing the cap will only create more backlog in applications to be processed which created the backlog in the first place before the pause to the PGP was made. The cap was made to alleviate the backlog it has been generated under the old PGP and eventually the backlog will be removed, if not minimize, in the future. It is easier for CIC to handle 5000 applications added each year than to handle 20000 or more each year.

Anyone got their cc charged whose application reached Jan 2nd? Kindly advise. I don't see anything on the google document.

There are 13 users, whose application reached CIC on Jan 2, made it to first 5000 PGP quota of 2015. These are highlighted in yellow on Timeline sheet of http://goo.gl/S2SPwf.

Hi Rossie, I don't know why I have two entries in the Timeline sheet. Unless there are two Bessy's in this forum. I can't remember typing twice.
