Sponsoring husband from Morocco

I travelled to Marrakesh on 2 of my trips. Loved the square. And yes we were really lucky. I met Goatlove while we were running around and my husband helped her husband out and my brother did a good deed for Goatlove. We are all like family going thru this together and everything will be good for us.
My children wanted my husband here for my daughters birthday in December, but I do not think that is even close for us. I hope he is here for my sons birthday in Feb. We really miss him so much. Last Christmas day he was on Skype with us so he could watch the kids open there gifts from him. They were so excited and that is the reason he wants to be here this Christmas is to see their face in person.

Meeting yall in Rabat was such a blessing in so many ways. :-*

Ok hi all, sorry to stir up the hornet's nest! But rest assured I just got off the phone with CIC and as long as the document is in English or French it's acceptable and they don't all have to be one or the other. That's pretty much what the website says, but it can be misconstrued, especially when an official translator is telling you otherwise! There's always people looking to scam out there that's for sure.

As for the fees, yes goatlove u r right about that. The person who advised me was mistaken cuz it says right on the website you don't have to pay all the fees at once but if you don't it will delay processing. I just thought I could have started my sponsorship evaluation and had it approved already by now but oh well, I almost have all the money saved now anyway.

An interesting side note, my hubby knows a guy who works at the Embassy in Rabat and he says some spouses are approved in as little as 4 months, even if the interview is not waived....not bad since CIC website currently has a wait time of 8 months!

That's the first time I hear that all have to be in French or English. All my supporting documents are in French and English (even our e-mails, chat logs/SMS etc, because we speak both French and English with each other, marriage cert. police clearance, birth certificate, medical receipt of my husband are in French, rest of the forms are in English. I think as long as the documents are either in French or English they are good for Canadian government.

Would love to hear what Jamali, Goatlove, and Terry did if they translated to English or not. I didn't and since Mississauga asked me for the 3 forms they did not mention that the French docs they have need to be replaced with translated ones, so I can only assume they are good.

I translated only in English, and all is good. All the documents, mine and my husbands.

btw- Agadir is beautiful in February!!! I couldn't believe how much colder Rabat was compared to Agadir I was frozen haha. I guess Agadir is a lot more down south than Rabat though. The nights in Agadir were a bit chilly but no fall/winter jacket needed.

Goatlove you seen the jacket I wore when I was there. I am wearing that jacket right now in Canada. I think the farther south you go the better, so Marrakesh might be better.

I am so happy that we met each other when you were there. It made it easier for both of us to go thru the process and I am happy that we met the other couple so he could help me with the police clearance in Rabat. Then I could tell you.lol

@ andyloonz - no need to apologize sister. we all know what it feels like to need reassurance, especially with all this! happy you got it all figured out If I were you, id also wait to have all the money, so once it's sent it's all done and no need to worry about any delays over payments. Yea, I've also noticed many people get approved within 4-5 months even if an interview is required but apparently not right now haha. Just goes to show how unpredictable this is. too bad but inshaAllah khayr.

@ terry - hahaha oh yeah! I remember being soo jealous you had that jacket! I really wasn't expecting it to be that cold. Alhamdulillah, everything worked out, alhamdulillah.

BTW everyone - I emailed Rabat last night and gotta reply 6 hours later! They told me that our file is waiting for an interview. They must be preparing an interview week for several applicants or something. Just hope it's this month inshaAllah...

i m from morocco also ,and i find this forum very helpful for our situation about waiting our processing paper in rabat ;and i can say when the strike was finished ,we was verry happy ,but we still have to wait me and my husband to be together inchaelah ,we get married in december 2012 ,and i did the medical at the end of january ,so my husband when he go back to canada he sent paper to missausouga ,and they approved ,and they tell my husband that the paper in rabat in may2013,and we still not yet hearing anything from them, i hope soon inchaelah

Someone I know here in Calgary was approved in 4.5 months, no interview, plus he forgot to include some documents when he initially applied to sponsor his wife...so there is no rhyme or reason.

Guys, you know yesterday I was driving back to the office from my meeting and I saw cars lined up on the street trying to get into a parking lot of an industrial/warehosue type building, I glanced to see what the building is and it's a food bank, cars were lining the street trying to get it, really made me thankful for all I have, and as I continued to drive all I could say was hamdulillah, the sight made me cry to be honest. As it is getting colder, and the need for clothing and food bank is greater, if any of your sisters could drop off some stuff at their local donation centre that would be great.

welcome Amira ... you're ahead of me about a month I think, because Rabat received our application in early June.

AWWWWWW jomz that is sooooooo romantic! I did the same thing a couple weeks ago, started cleaning out closets and drawers to make room for him even tho it could be 9 months before he gets here. Long distance relationships are so hard, it's these little things that keep us going. Stay strong akhti al habibi!

Super amazing I just moved a month ago, and as I am unpacking I am filling up boxes with a lot to also take and donate *Making space for my husband's clothes , which I keep buying for him even though he is not here yet hhhh* But when getting dressed in the morning it's nice seeing his things there, makes me feel like he really is already with me. Am I crazy? lol

I have been doing that same thing, I guess I can not use the master bedroom closet and 2 dressers anymore. I will have to share . But he is worth it so much. I have donated over 5 bags of cloths of my children and I. I have cloths for my husband as well and his favorite body spray. My son and daughter love the smell of it and they say it feels like daddy is already here. The very best feeling.
