Not sure what legislation change you are referring to. However, the child must already have permanent resident status before applying for citizenshipHello, I am Canadian citizen and can i sponsor my dependent children directly as Canadian citizen instead of PR as they were born before i got citizenship? I read that there is current policy change that will allow me do it. Is it true?

There is no legislation that allows your dependent child to get citizenship directly if they were born before you became a citizen. You've misunderstood whatever you read.Hello, I am Canadian citizen and can i sponsor my dependent children directly as Canadian citizen instead of PR as they were born before i got citizenship? I read that there is current policy change that will allow me do it. Is it true?

The OP is a citizen already, so that part of Subsection 5(2) is not applicable to this case.ur child should be PR and your self PR and then you apply together to citizenship, even if he don't meet the years but you are meeting it . yes you both will be citizen same time
u r right, sorry! but it is right that the minor doesn't need to meet the 3 years before applying. i know it not relevant with the original questionThe OP is a citizen already, so that part of Subsection 5(2) is not applicable to this case.
