Hi Guys,

I am working on work permit here. I am planning to marry my girlfriend in May 2017 who already owns a visitor visa to Canada and her visa expires on 30th April 2018. I am a bit confused now, as she already has visitor visa, do I need to apply for a sponsor visa after marriage or her current visitor visa will work (She will join me here in January 2018). What after marriage I apply for a sponsor visa and CiC rejects it saying she already have a visitor visa.

Any help will be appreciated.

My wife applied for SOWP on March 8th, 2017. I am in my final year as an international student and I just wrote my last exam yesterday. We haven't heard from her application yet. She already passed her medicals on March 29th.

Am I still considered a student even if I already wrote my last exam yesterday? My study permit is valid until July 31st, 2017. Is my wife still eligible for the SOWP?

Any input will be appreciated.

It is good idea to apply for work permit and send it to them stating that you have renewed your permit. as I knew some one on this forum got refused based on this reason that his/her permit was expiring.
sometimes they ask for it if they need it, but it is always good to do it before even they ask for it.
