SOWP 2016 applicants

Hi All,

Need some information on SWOP. I had applied for SWOP for my wife on August 23rd and today I got an update and it sys " Medicals Passed" , since we had upfront medicals. Does it mean my files is processing at a decent speed or is it normal to get Updates on medicals in less than 2 weeks. As dome of the fellow mates have posted that there has been no change in the file since day 1 of their application. Please advise.
I had submitted the application on line under "Application made outside Canada"

i finally got refused a ssecond time for my sowp. total of 4 refusals now 2 visitor n 2 sowp. im glad cic has made it clear that ther is no chance i should try ever again. But i wish all the other applicants gudluck

I am so sorry to hear that "Yadav". I don't understand what's wrong with CIC, they don't understand how hard it is to be without family. Hope God gives them so sort of soft corner to understand the pain that everyone is going through without the Family.

i did email my lawyer's assistant but no email back yet from them. its ok dear reasons dnt matter now. we did our best in the 4th time already but if they still find reasons i dnt think ther is anything new that i can show them now. gudluck n god bless for ur application.

Why was it rejected in past if you dont mind sharing. I'm in a similar situation. 2 Visitor visas declined in Jan-Feb 2016, I have now filed for a SOWP last week. Sep 30, 2014 applicant waiting for a final decision on PR. Spouse was added in Jan 2016.

When you applied was it from Canada? and your spouse is already in Canada or back home? I mean did you do the "Application Outside Canada" or "Inland"

We have applied on July 20 th and approved application reflected today i.e. 26-Aug-2016. which took 36 days

I got my spouse's medical result as "passed" around same period ( within 2 weeks from application date) and i am waiting for result (it's 7 weeks now - normal SOWP application processing time shown as 10 weeks (for India - it may vary for your country) ). I think your application is moving at normal pace

cic has only been giving my intention as a reason with personal assets and financial status. we did provide waterve lawyer asked n yet refused. i guess no other option for us but to call my wife back. this is wat cic wants only our money

Hi there, I've also applied for SOWP on April 28th but no updates yet. But I received medicals of mine and my spouse yesterday regarding my PR application.

I have applied on june 3rd 2016 and below is the status of my application.

Online application via attorney while spouse is in india. Below is status showing on portal for my application:

Application/profile status open
Review of medical results - passed
Review of submitted documents - No additional documents are needed at this time
Scheduling an interview - Not needed at this time
Review of biometric information - Not needed at this time
Final decision - Not started

Any latest updates for ur application ????

I have no updates for my application yet, I am expecting it soon. As my friends who did On-line have had some updates (Submitted to Blore office in India- Lawyer Told this info).

Hope we all get the Visa's soon. Fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone.

How long does it take to receive the passport request after passing medical? We didn't submit upfront medical.

I guess that's a million $ question, but before that we should get two-three emails about, change of status from "Open" - "In-progress", and then "Final Decision" made, and then comes the PPR if I am not wrong as this was the process I had followed for my "Ope Work Permit".
