Hi Friends,

I am working as a software engineer for last 3 years and my designation is software engineering. But my responsibilities are related to SQL Server database and SSIS which is data-warehousing. Overall I can say my designation is related to Database. So could you please advise what should I present in express entry as software engineer or database analyst or something else according ti NOC occupation list. I have already gave IELTS and got R-6.5, L-6.5, W-6.0, S-6.0. I have sent documents to WES for assessment today. I will apply for police clearance certificate. I have to request reference letters from my employers. Apart from that do I need to gather any other documents. Please suggest and also suggest will I be good to go for Express Entry. Please help me.

I did Bachelor's degree from India i.e. for 4 years and also did masters from UK.

I don't have any job offer currently from canada. what are the best options that should I opt to get the job and get canada Visa

Thanks,
Anil

You have to check your job descriptions here:
http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2172
your work experience have to be compatible with the NOC code which you want to choose up to 80%,so I think database analyst is more appropriate for you.

To apply for the express entry your personal information, your work experience and language proficiency and ECA report will be needed at the first step, other documents such as proof of funds and police clearance and additional documents are necessary after getting ITA.

Luck,

With your skills and good English, why not look for jobs in USA? There are more IT jobs there and USA is overall better place for IT professionals, ie you make more money, pay less taxes, stuffs are cheaper etc...

Don't laugh! That was a serious suggestion. Besides, I see your NOC is 2171, and if you are not PR yet, turning this guy away to the US would, you know, reduce your competition in EE 8)
