Who can tell me about social insurance while studing with Study Permit in Canada? What's the difference between Permanent Residence?

If your SIN starts with a 9, it is a temporary SIN and those are given out to temporary workers and students. It means for the employer that they should check that you have a work permit before they hire you. If you get PR, you will have to get a new SIN.
