Hi, so my gf of 3 years is planning to come to Canada in September with only a passport, and plans to stay until Christmas, only leaving to visit family in the States for holidays. She intends to return after a week or so with only a passport, and then apply for a working holiday visa in January.
We are really just concerned with what to expect with the immigration officer, and what to actually say. Can my gf stay in Canada for 3 months, leave the country for holidays, and then come back for three months? I know the maximum stay time is 6 months, so we're concerned about this.
The other concern is that she has about $6,000 saved up. Does immigration ask about funds, and if so, is there a possibility she can be denied a 6 month stay due to lack of funds? I intend to pay for most of the expenses while she is here, but am I allowed to say that?
Thanks in advance for any information, this kind of situation may have been in the forums I just couldn't find it.
