SINP Confirmation Job Approval letter from a Saskatchewan Employer

Hi Shahzad and Kavy, thanks can you please advise, how do I submit work permit extension application by giving SINP reference ? Should I do it online or should I send paper copy ? Your advise would be appreciated. I am also thinking to approach SINP office in next two weeks, if they don't take any step in my job approval process. The problem is I am very much confused and scared as I already have one casual job with SINP job approval form, which I haven't used to file my application and instead of that I have taken a big risk by submitting application without job approval of my field job. I think you can attach your job letter and reference number of your SINP file in the online application for your work permit.

yuppzz exactly you can apply online by attaching your SINP submission letter... the normal processing time is 56 days and i think by that time u ll surely get job approval done and might also get you SINP approved. Even CIC officials will mail you to send them the required documents and they will give u 15 days time again. and you can also request extention of your time period bt telling them the whole story. because afterall its their lag in the system and not ours. so just chill. You ll be okay. Even i went through all dis.

This is crazy now.When they are issuing nominations without the Job approval form, which they say is mandatory for all applicants, what is the big fun in waiting for that approval letter.As far as I think, the work permit validity is the only criteria here.

Thanks guys for your comments, I am thinking to go to SINP office sometime next week as its been nearly 1.5 months that my employer did registration and got login id and passward in 3rd week of september but my job has not been posted yet as of today, even if it gets posted today I don't expect any miracle to get my job approved within a month especially looking at the way SINP is organized in application processing and now just a month left in my work permit, I do not know whom to approach and totally confused. I heard SINP don't consider files without Job approval forms but I don't think so this is correct, they access each case based on work permit situation. This is crazy.

DK84, SINP will process our papers when they see fit and when your number comes up on the queue. You are responsible for applying for a closed work permit thru CIC with your current employer. You should call CIC, 1888 242 2100 and ask them what is the process for your employer to apply for a work permit for you. Since we are on post graduate work permit, our employers don't have to re-advertise for our jobs again like what they do for LMOs. i think a job offer alone would suffice but call CIC about this or perhaps someone else will answer this for us in this forum. So as you apply for a closed work permit, this allows you to extend your stay and work legally while you are waiting for SINP to process your nomination, or employer approval. It is not SINP's responsibility to hurry up their processing just because your work permit is expiring.

I am sorry to say but when i called up CIC when my work permit was expiring.....they told me that you cannot get a closed work permit without SINP nomination or you need to do that LMO stuff right from start..they just wont except your file without LMO no matter what. The only thing is Nomaination from SINP. you can apply for closed work permit without nomination approved just to take time because it takes around 56-60 days to get processed and they will ask you for a nomination letter by mailing you and will give u further 15 days time. So by the time ur work permit case is processed i think you ll get ur sinp approved by that time and u can send that to CIC and they ll issue u a work permit. but remember if u r unable to send them a valid SINP approval they will reject ur work permit. And yes this is also true that if someone's work permit is going to expire soon they will take that case first. I dont know bt this is indeed the procedure. Even in my case i got my nomination inside 3 months just because my work permit was expiring. And may of my friends who applied before me got theirs a month later.

I have seen many cases in Regina that people have received SINP within 20 days of submission of their application only becuase their work permit were about to expire, SINP is giving priority to those who are inside sasaktchewan on temporary work permit and want to settle, which is good sign but the mess which they started by having job approval process has made things worst. I am going to apply for work permit extension knowing that it would only buy me some extra time. But I did what i could best by submitting SINP application before 1.5 months of my work permit expires and without job approval now its upto SINP to process the same. As soon as i get my SINP letter, I can send it to CIC, but at a moment its all chocked up becuase I don't have job approval letter with me and I am scared that SINP would request for the same very soon and I will have no answer for them because of their own processing time delay.

Maybe wait for this week and then go to their office and explain them your situtation....From what I have heard and read, WP validity plays an important role in getting the nomination. Wish this works even for you...GOOD LUCK......keep praying...!!!

Thanks amarecharla, I have also seen and heard people are getting nominations withing 20 days of filing their applications becuase of their validity of work permit, many of my colleagues have gone through this. I am having hard time as I have a field job as well as well reputed employer in Saskatchewan, but finding it very hard at a moment. The biggest question is would i be able to find myself lucky in one of those ?...when I submitted my application, I was told it would take 4-8 months and so I am bit worried and my case is also on border line as I started working in Saskatchewan on 27th of April, 2012 and rules changed on 1st May. Thanks once again !

But how can you wait for 4-8 months?The best thing would be go to their office and explain your situation, you can also carry your job offer letter and show them.

Friend of my friend applied for job approval in June and he did not get approval till sep. In sep, he went to SINP office and fought with them that his visa is getting expire in 2 weeks so what the hell he should do now? he yelled at them and told them that your department is so lazy in process.
SINP told him to apply without job approval. He applied SINP and got his SINP in 7 days before his visa expires. Lucky man.

@ shahzad, could it be possible that the friend of your friend (who yelled at SINP staff :-X ) got the nomination WITHOUT job approval confirmation because he is working in SK already? This job approval confirmation thing is real futile.. We were supposed to submit the application of my hubby last week of October but wasn't able to as we are waiting for the job approval still.. Now we're planning to submit SINP application without it. Still thinking though. What's the best mode, online or personally go to their Office considering the application will be without the job approval?
