Hi all,

My status change to IP on Feb 09, and got an Notes: Noc is listed as 2283 by Applicant, but shows up as 2282 on the SINP list.

I emailed SINP my new IMM-0008, and change to NOC to 2282.

Today 13, my status changed to Waiting On Applicant, but I do not receive the email yet to provide more detail information.

Does anyone know what's that meaning and what should I do, please.

Thank you!~

I will go asking tomorrow I think it is about a week, but the problem is that I am not sure that they will agree to renew it 6 months earlier than the assigned time as it will expire in August

I will update you tomorrow

I totally disagreed with you brother. Fixed them deposit is as liquid as Cash and therefore easily transferrable.

All they need from him is a transaction history which will back up the Fixed Term Certificate. It is a liquid money, real money and not even Near Money.
Do not totally agree with you. In accounting, a fixed asset (Tangibel, Intangible and Investment {fixed/term deposit is a form}) is any form of asset that can not be readily converted to cash and used for immediate and urgent requirement. It is totally different from a liquid asset (cash, savings and current asset). Converting a fixed asset into cash results in some loss of value while this is otherwise in savings. It is just like shares and needs to be valued based on the current market value. To obtain a solvency certificate in U.S, only fixed asset cannot be shown, you have to show a either a current (liquid asset) or both current and fixed and I believe the same will be applicable in Canada since they use almost the same system

I would suggest Dreamer and Shanaya to get new proof or letter on their bank letterhead showing the start date, current date and the balances (Start and Current balance) if they cannot show any savings account in the last three month.

Actually I think to gather all documents and send them all together

but they asked me that the passport expiry date must be more than 2 years so I advice u all that if any of u has a passport that will expire before 2 years to renew it as they said in their email for me

and I have a question please:

I have a saving certificate in a bank other than the bank I frequently use
this certificate covers the amount they need but this account has no activity I only save this money in it
and now they are asking about a statement that has the activity of the previous 3 months
the question is: How can I let them understand that their is no activity on this account?
Since you have a savings account, get the statement of the savings account showing start and end dates within 3 month period prior to application or to current date. It does not matter if there is no transaction so far the balance is up to the required amount.

One thing about settlement fund requirement is that they want a fund that is easily "transferrable" and not money that is tied down somewhere. This why they are rejecting fixed deposit because you cannot spend it instantly. They don't want to care about the term of the deposit. I would advise you give them a saving or current account transactions to backup. Cheers
you are totally wrong, according the application guide, SINP describes settlement fund as followed. Term deposit can be recognized as fund.

Settlement Funds
The minimum required amount for your application is based on the size of your family and outlined in the table below. Your settlement funds must meet the following criteria:
 The minimum amount must be maintained for at least 3 months prior to submitting your application to the SINP and you are required to maintain these funds throughout the entire immigration process.
 The account(s) must be in the principal applicant or spouse’s name(s) only.
 Account statements must show detailed transaction history.
 Only provide documents for accounts that maintain the minimum required value, not documents for all financial assets.
 Only the following funds will be accepted: checking accounts, savings accounts, GICs, Mutual Funds, RRSPs, TSFAs, term deposits and time deposi

This should calm everybody, thanks yongzhang

As long as fixed deposit term deposit/ time deposit were bought 3 months prior to application everything is fine ! And if the immigration officer is lazy enough to not top check your file properly feel free to shoot an email for review !

RULE BOOK matters !
