Hello all,

Just wanted to share that my wife and I just got back from Singapore yesterday. We submitted her passport Monday morning and received it back with the visa and all the other documents needed for landing on Thursday morning : ) Will be leaving Thailand in about 2 weeks and will finally be on our way home at last :D

Total time from Singapore receiving the application to visa being issued: 16.5 months
Congratulations to both of you, finally the waiting came to an end, enjoy your 2weeks stay in Thailand. Have a safe trip back to Canada.

I will apply for my husband for a visit visa.I allready applied for the sponsorship but in the meantime i want to apply for this visit visa (less than 6 month). Can anybody please tell me which document i need to show? How much money i need to show?
Is there any cover letter and how it will be? any sample?
I am sure many of us went throught this process and got the visit visa. Can any of you give me the suggestion please?

Thanks a lot in advance.

The request was sent to IOM via mail. Yeah, maybe a re-med would have been better. But really, all they're asking for is an x-ray, which means my wife's medical has been extended pending an x-ray. And I am sure my wife's police check would have cleared in the mean time. Hopefully, they will look at my case faster, but god knows...

Anyways, just hoping for the best...

btw, congrats lightbd!
Hey Thepie,

Any update from IOM or Singapore VO for your Visa?

-Valid passport
-two passport size pictures(name and birthday behind)
-photocopy of curent immigration document(AOR letter)
-proof of financial support(host from canada/applicant/applicant family member in canada or home)
-Proofs of ties in homecountry( school,work,business..)
-Additional document( Invitation letter from host in canada+letter from the application stating the reason/duration of the visit including stating his/her ties to home country then include in a different paper the proofs of ties)
-If possible a letter from mp from/and canada & bangladesh(doesnt mean they will give visa if u have)

The invitation letter should state:

* Complete name of applicant
* Date of birth.
* The person's address and telephone number.
* Your relationship to the person being invited.
* The purpose of the trip.
* How long the person you are inviting intends to stay in Canada.
* Details on accommodation and living expenses.
* The date the person you are inviting intends to leave Canada.

Your letter must also include the following information about yourself:

* Complete name.
* Date of birth.
* Address and telephone number in Canada.
* Occupation.
* Whether you are a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident
* A photocopy of a document proving your status in Canada.

My husband trv still under processing... theres no proofs that if you show a million that they will give u visa the main thing why people get refused is that they do not have enough ties to homecountry so they do not believe the applicant will leave canada once trv expires. The amount of money to show really depends on where the person gonna stay if its a hotel the person obviously need to show a lots for a six month visit but if its a friend of spouse that has income then maybe 500 a month exemple would be enough. Last time my husband had only 2,500$ in his bank and when he got refused they didnt mention anything about not having enough money for visit. goodluck

heres the application center website in bangladesh

Hi shiny,
After a long time I logged in this forum. Actually I have started my study. So very busy with the study and my daughter. I don't know how time flies. Anyways good for me as I am tired of waiting like you. For me I don't think my husband will get the security clearence in near future. So I am trying to accept the situation and trying to be more busy so that i don't think too much about this. My husband will apply for the TRV again in first week of November. I am sure he will not get the visa. Just for peace of my mind that I have tried my lebel best. Anyways inshallah your husband will get visa and your waiting will be over soon. Take care of yourself and your baby too.. :D

Hey Bold9900,

My wife did her x-ray on the 23rd. The assistant told us it will be sent directly to RMO Manila. So I am guessing its on its way? Anyways, no news yet, I will ask my MP to help me find out what the timeline will be like, but I'll keep you updated!

good luck!

Good that you have school to keep you busy and your daughter, when we are busy our mind has less time to think for sure. In my case it doesnt matter what i do i think all the time lol and this week is my last wee of work as i am stressed and dragging my self to work i decided to stop even though its early. My husbands passport has been released from singapore last night just waiting for it to come in dhaka and know the result now. Try to be positive i know how hard is to wait :-[ and yes apply for trv and who knows your husband might get visa, expect the unnexpected ::). It seems like its easier for female applicant to get visa than male,from all the research i made thats what i am believing now. You take care, & really wish from my heart your husband secutiry check will be done very soon and you will hear from singapore soon.

Hi shiny88: I have a quick and stupid (may be) question to you. One of the requirements of the TRV application is "The Invitation Letter" or "The Letter mentionaning the purpose of the trip". I always wonder what is the "BEST" acceptable reason to a IO/VO for a spouse (sponsor) to mention in the invitation letter to visit him/her in Canada? It is kinda funny to me! Anyway, one of my friends wife wrote the reason was "marriage day anniversary" but the application got rejected, sadly! Could you "list" few good reasons that might be good reasons in the view of a IM/VO, please. Thanking you a millions in advance for your time.

To be honest i dont know what are the good reason for a spouse to visit another spouse,mostly people get refused when is to visit a spouse. yes i guess to celebrate a wedding anniversary is not good enought for some people, last time i applied for my husband is to celebrate valentines day LMAO i know it might sound funny but got rejected(the reason of the refusal wasnt the purpose of the visit tough), this time is to be there for the birth of our first child.To my knowledge it doesnt matter the purpose of the visit but the ties in your spouse homecountry that matters. I read few people who got visa to celebrate wed anniversary.So you should focus on finding strong ties for ur spouse to her homecountry. what i find very st*pid is that it doesnt matter what ties in the world u have to ur homecountry ur spouse must be the number one reason to leave everything, so to show ties to proof ull return back is quite funny to me.
